all this talk about FF and L lens.

I went on with photography career and bagging awards and projects with just APS-C camera (EOS 60D) and no L lens (EF-S 10-22).

so you think buying EOS 70D and non L lens is bad stuff?

my L lens (70-200 F4L) is my only L and the most useless lens in my arsenal. My most used lenses are EF-S 15-85 (video, photos on goldfries.com) - EF-S 10-22 (commerial work, interior) - and 50mm f1.4 (commercial work, food.)

WHY 24-105 collecting dust @_@

Such versatile lens wo

coz i shoot food normally in the house, either with 50mm 1.8 or the sp90 only... normally if i am out also i will take the 50mm only... powerful enough for many things wink.gif

i shoot with 50mm too at first,

I find it the minimal focus distant very disturbing. (yes it is very small indeed)

I think for food close up,best is 70-100mm range

if shoot overall, 35mm will be very good choice
*
range is all up to u, janji the food looks good, no one will bother about the range wink.gif

my only concern with the 50mm is that i cant get closer only, just a personal preference to shoot near near tongue.gif

That's what im trying to say, the minimal distant is 0.4m
*
haha not all food need to go near near one, u shoot so near means your food presentation all cannot see also wink.gif

I tried my friend 85mm, very good potrait lens, super sharp mustache also can see clearly

Minimal distance is around 0.5-06m?
*
makes no difference from 50mm since u gonna crop anyway, rite? tongue.gif

hehe, but i really enjoy your photo. it has good composition of colour, props, and good selection of food

u know, till today, i only used 2 lenses for my foodie shots - 50mm and 90mm. the only difference is the body, i changed from 60D to 5Dclassic, that was only this year wink.gif

how's the 5D classic so far? always wanted to get one but never got the courage to bite the bullet tongue.gif
*
the noise is "calmer" than the 60D imo, but no live-view and cannot shoot tethered, heavier n bulkier, and no flip screen, no video and slower focus, no auto ISO too cry.gif

in fact, the only reason why i got the 5DC is because i need the point of view of a full frame and it is the cheapest full frame around doh.gif

QUOTE(4agze @ Apr 30 2015, 05:01 PM)
if you don't need those modern features but enjoy snapping photos then 5Dc is a good starting point for FF, although 5D2 is affordable now or wait until Canon announce 5D4, 5D2 will be even cheaper and my 5D3 will be out for sales  biggrin.gif
*
yeap, not so much of a techie fan and dont really follow updates hence for sure i wont even consider the 5D4 (didnt even know that's launching soon), but i guess it could be due to my preference/style of shooting hence the only reason why i switched to a full frame earlier smile.gif

My Sandisk extreme 32GB 120MB/s CF card just gave me some issues.

After an entire day of photoshoot for a prewedding no less, I came back to find all the files gone. Put in Camera and the camera won't even load lol.

Lucky the rescue pro software manage to restore all the images.
But darn it, not sure if it's Magic lantern(stable release), my camera or my card....
