u cant actually...as dq6 has that stupic cooling pad on the underside of the board with propreiety mounting, so its a bit dangerousrs....i think... but welll shawty u can always buy the board the c whether can fit or not...
*
I already have the DQ6 in my hands.
Been looking it for 2 hours.

It's not about the cooling pad under the board.

It's the heatpipes!!! vmad.gif
All those heatpipes are connected to the mosfets, pwms, northbridge and southbridge.

How the hell are you going to remove the heatpipes?
Yes, there's only one way to do it, how?
By cutting the heatpipes!

But i'm not going to do that, as by doing that will void the warranty for my motherboard. sweat.gif

But hey, i've thinked of one simple solution.
Fix a 40mm fan on each of the heatsink together with the PWM & the mosfet heatsink.
And i'm going to replace all those thermal pads and thermal paste under the heatsinks with AS5. smile.gif

I hate those heatpipes. sweat.gif

u can remove the heatpipes inlcuding the crazy cool, its removable and u can stick it back later, so wont void the warranty.
*
QUOTE(irenic @ Feb 21 2007, 11:10 PM)
yeah.. just remove those crazy cool and all the heatpipes.. then put on better nb cooling there. for sb, normal heatsink will do just fine and for pwm, small ramsinks are more than enuff biggrin.gif
*
How?
The thing is, the heatpipes are welded to the southbridge, the northbridge, the pwm's and the mosfet heatsink.

If i remove the it, that means i have to remove all the things that is connected.
And by doing this, i won't be able to cool down those hot pwms & mosfets. sweat.gif

The northbridge & southbridge chipset heatsink can be replaced with 3rd party heatsink, but, how to deal with the PWM's & mosfet? shocking.gif

put vga ram  heatsink on mosfet PWM's then ok lo

Don't you think those ram heatsink is too small for those pwm & mosfet? sweat.gif
Those PWM & mosfet is freaking hot i'd tell ya. sweat.gif

heh blink.gif i thought u don't care bout the looks (ugly/bling-bling)...
like u stated, u wanna bling-bling or performance...
then let me say, u want good looking or performance laugh.gif
*
I am not into bling bling, but at least, i want my chipset cooler to be good looking aka handsome.

And the NC-U6 & the HR-05 is very handsome you know? laugh.gif

But that SunnyStone SS HA-001 is freaking ugly...

Just look at it's design, not handsome at all, but hansap! doh.gif

so conclusion is SunnyStone SS HA-001 fall into the place where the most ugliest 3rd party chipset heatsink?

actually TT extreme spirit II handsome also,by removing the fan mounting tongue.gif
*
Yes.
It falls to the ugliest chipset heatsink. laugh.gif

Eventhough i dont like thermaltake, but the design of the TT Extreme Spirit II is acceptable. thumbup.gif
The TT Extreme spirit II can be considered handsome. smile.gif

Damn!
The first tower chipset heatsink that can directly fit with a 70MM fan!

This is the most handsome Chipset heatsink to me~~ wub.gif

PCcooler HB-771S

Look:

Can anyone please bring this thing here? drool.gif

Added on February 25, 2007, 8:33 pmMore pictures.
And the most interesting part about this heatsink:

user posted image

Can you see that the heatpipe hits directly to the core of the chipset?
This is very good for those chipset that the core is an exposed core!

By doing this, the heat will directly flown to the heatpipe! wub.gif

some ppl said this pccooler chipset cooler cost only half price of hr-05 wink.gif
*
It's not about the price that we care about. shakehead.gif
The hell with it! laugh.gif

Even if it's more expensive than HR-05 but works better than HR-05, people would still buy it. thumbup.gif

But the main problem is, how the hell in the world are we going to get it here? rclxub.gif

Calling Irangan... Calling One, Calling Two...
Mayday, Mayday, irangan wanted... nod.gif

Tried asking powerslide if he could understand what stated in the PCCooler website, but too bad that the website is 100% mandarin. sweat.gif

what abt this....full copper and very heavy vantec ramsinks

*
My opinion:
The base is too damn thick, while the fins are too short & too thick also.
Hard to release the heat.

1/ get one of these heatsinks from uglyvamp. id personally either use the TSOP or BGA. and they come with 3M Thermal tapes too thumbup.gif

*
I'd choose the TSOP. smile.gif
The base thickness is good, the fins are high and thin too...

This will greatly help reducing the temps. thumbup.gif

Essential tool/accessories
all chipset cooler mounted by jingting mounting tool
2 fans which is evercool and pccooler
2 thermal probe with lcd

lets start

*
So the PCCooler is the winner eyh? wub.gif
I know it's the best just by looking at the design.

If not because of the heatpipe touching the chipset die directly, it won't perform this good.

Seriously, the PCCooler is the best.

Wanna know why?
Ok, i'll explain.
You see that the noctua NC-U6 is "naib johan" laugh.gif

But think again about the design of the NC-U6 and the PCCooler HS777 chipset heatsink.

The NC-U6 uses two heatpipes while the PCCooler Chipset heatsink uses only one heatpipe.

You see there eventhough PCCooler Chipset heatsink is using only one heatpipe, it works better than the NC-U6 that utilize two heatpipes. thumbup.gif

Only one thing about the PCCooler chipset heatsink though.

The price. sweat.gif sweat.gif

nope..noctua is the winner.. wink.gif
as for the price of pccooler hb-771s,RM80 ait high,i felt the material kinda cheapskate, the fin abit soft, bent easily but it did a really good job on the heatpipe at the base, when comes to using evercool fan,its beat hr-05

and one thing i realised after this comparison is,heatpipe does work very well when full load,it dissipate the heat faster than non-heatpipe cooler wink.gif
*
RM80? sweat.gif
Uglyvamp told me the price for the PCCooler chipset heatsink is RM105 sweat.gif

Offcourse the 3rd party chipset heatsink is better, but that depends on which one you're buying. laugh.gif

Which one i'll recommend? brows.gif
Noctua NC-U6!

King of chipset heatsink. flex.gif

yes the HR-05 will indeed solve ur prob. however if u could mount the hsf the other way, that would help too.
*
Yes irangan.
You can still use the NC-U6 too.
Just turn your NH-U12F and make the exhaust of the heatsink to face directly to the psu.
This way, the heat from the heatsink will still be blown out from the casing.
As PSU takes the air from the casing, and blow it out from the casing too.

This way, you can still use the NC-U6 thumbup.gif

checkout the new mosfet cooler frm thermalright, sure looks radical and cool, adjustable length somore, altho what tht means im not sure

*
The problem on that heatsink is, how the hell in the world are you going to stick that heatsink on your mosfet & PWM's chips?

Thermal sticker won't be able to stick that heavy heatsink, even better if your motherboard in standing position. [not in lying down position.]

talking abt thermal adhesives , any guides on how to remove, was reading abt adhesive how they mix paste and adhesive so it wont be a permenant bond, but no where does it mention abt removal.....sharp pocket knife maybe??

Sharp pocket knife might be dangerous.
You can crack the chips dude. sweat.gif
