I think location matters.

You are in Klang Valley I suppose? Some in Penang didnt have such problem. He's in Sabah I think if his location is correct.

Right now Klang Valley is definitely affected.

I think that's the GPS problem we are facing, but I think you put it better. GPS works outdoor, but once in door the GPS (or data or wifi) does not work, rendering Map, Google Now etc useless

this is for Dev rom and Dev rom don't have issue with Maxis / GPS ?
*
I would say developer rom not as bad as this v18 stable.

While its true that you still experience network loss with developer rom (I tested until 4.7.11), however, I would say its 50-50 when it comes to network loss. Sometimes ok, sometimes not.

With v18, I totally cant make calls at all. Ring once and disconnect, how to fix this?

More and more issues it seem with the latest update. I hope they can fix this as quickly as possible. Else, we just have to revert back to Jelly Bean. Anyone still has the link to the old official Malaysia Stable ROM?

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Jul 24 2014, 12:15 AM)
After seeing so many people keep asking the same questions regarding the latest stable Kitkat rom, I thought I could provide some guides for you all.

For people who want to know about the details and changelog of the new Kitkat rom, check this thread

http://en.miui.com/thread-29591-1-1.html
For Maxis users who are considering whether to update or not, read through those threads before you make any decision.
http://en.miui.com/thread-27349-1-1.html
http://en.miui.com/thread-29221-1-1.html
http://en.miui.com/thread-29562-1-1.html
For Maxis users who regret after updating, 4 solutions:

1. Do not use wifi/data when you are calling or receiving calls.
2. Flash back to previous Malaysia stable rom JXDMYBD14.0.
3. Change telco
4. Ditch the phone and do not turn back (the extreme way). Yes. I know I am harsh about this. But to me, it's kind of ridiculous for Xiaomi to release such a "stable" rom before testing it in Malaysia thoroughly.

Note: Please read all of them. You may find it wasting your time on reading, but prevent is better than cure.
*
Upon reading this, I don't think there's a need to check your passport to confirm your nationality.

Same thing since the first kitkat developer rom (till the latest), until China stable and then Malaysia stable. Coincidence?

If indeed due to modem/baseband it should effect others telco as well, Umobile seem work very well at lease for me.
*
I can say its baseband aka modem problem. I actually exchange the modem image from JB with the affected one from KK rom, flashed it and guess what. No more disconnection. However, there's further changes within the rom which render the earpiece, speakerphone and mic not responding when in calls.

I have unzipped JXDMYBD14.0 (V5) (Malaysia Stable ROM) into C:\ROM.
Then run Miflash and browse to C:\ROM and click button "FLASH".
There is error.

I did something wrong?
*
Very wrong my friend...

I already posted the guide countless times. You need the China JB stable fastboot ROM. Our ROM dont have fastboot image. You need to download the China fastboot ROM and then unzip into a folder in C (Dont unzip in Program Files).

After you finish flashing, then rename the local MY ROM to update.zip and flash in recovery to revert back to MY ROM.

Full guide here... http://en.miui.com/thread-21325-1-1.html

First, you follow step4, Downgrade from Developer rom to Stable

1. Download MiFlash from the link and install
2. Download http://bigota.d.miui.com/JXDCNBD14.0/cancr..._bb5096bfd9.tgz
3. Unzip this image to any folder in C (dont put in program files)
4. Goto recovery by long press volume up + power button.
5. Wipe & Reset. Wipe everything one by one. Done already, go back to main menu and power off
6. Goto fast boot by long press volume down + power button
7. Connect to your pc. Run MiFlash, point to the folder you unzip the earlier file
8. Flash and wait for it to finish.

Once done, it will boot up.

Rename the Malaysian rom that you downloaded (JXDMYBD14.0) to update.zip and then copy it to the root of your Mi3 storage. Goto recovery again. Select install update.zip to system one. Done already, go and wipe everything again. Then reboot to system one (latest)

You will go back to Malaysian rom. You will have to download every google apps again. Even the keyboard.

damn it. why mine like this. how many people here got problem like mine?
*
From most replies, it seem to affect Klang Valley users. It has been confirmed a software/drivers bug by Xiaomi. I got it too. Change to another Maxis number also same.

If you're on Maxis then just let it be as latest KK 4.4.2 had compatability problem with Maxis line, you may experience drop call, Internet not working & etc

If you are on other Telco eg Umobile,  Celcom (Digi not sure since no one feedback on it) you can plug the phone to PC & use Xiaomi software to update it thru reversed tethering (aka use computer Internet connection to update) I have done it & so far not a single problem after update ps. I am on Umobile.

Improvement on camera - no more auto focus problem,  better low light photo.

Overall phone ia much smoother,  lesser heat & run on lower ram.

Good luck.

ok updated info : Digi also no issues,  so only Maxis problematic.
*
Only calls.

In fact, 3G speed increase was phenomenal.

For those who are interested, I shared my OTA file.

Just copy into your phone. Use Updater app and Select Update Package. Point to the file and flash.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6f1DjlUSoz...sp=docslist_api

BE WARNED!! THIS ROM WILL CAUSE CALLS DISCONNECTING AND NETWORK LOSS IF YOU'RE USING MAXIS/UMOBILE. OTHER TELCOS SEEM NOT AFFECTED. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If you had downloaded Google Keyboard before, ie when using Nexus device, it should be in your ALL column in Play Store. Searching for it on Play Store surely can't find.

But since I had it in my account, I share it now.

Google Keyboard APK
