Preve Premium Turbo?! I guess brake problem will exist d.. mine will going to check again for the brake sound.. last time they jsut use something like lubricant and blow it.. addition, my car tyre puncture, so they cant drive fast. this saturday will go again and hopefully it will settle it..

Preve premium.

Had a chat with the head of service there last week. He has serviced a few Preve there and has not encountered any with this helicopter sound. Hope that mine is also one of the lucky ones. Ha.

I see. Thanks for the infor.

P/S Did some reading on the net on dry battery. They say dry battery should last 6-8 yrs! What did they say on this battery in the warranty? 1 yr only?

Checked my Preve at the shop. 100% OK. Engine is not as loud as I expected (maybe I was comparing it with my old Wira! Ha).

Cannot find any crack or rusty spot on the car. Good.

But found a wet battery in the Preve while expecting a dry battery as I learnt from one friend in the forum that his has a dry battery. Asked the head of service there and he said normally it is wet battery. Can you check whether yours is wet or dry battery?

Have to wait till Tuesday to get my car as JPJ is not open on Sat and some excise duty issue.

Cheerio.

It should be a RAMCAR brand maintenance-free wet battery, not dry battery.

Thanks. Mine is also a RAMCAR battery.

I heard got raya promo rm3000 and free 3 years services. Anyone can confirm this? I'm interested to buy the non CFE version
*
HR Preve promotion was RM3000 rebate plus 3 years free service and this ended on 31 July 2014.

However, Merdeka promotion (till 31 Aug) is the same as HR. So ...

All the best with your pick.

Interested to know how many days after you got your new Preve you sent it in for the first 1000 km service.

1 week? 2 weeks?

See who has the fastest record!

Wah, so quick.

It will take me about 1000/30 = 33 days to reach 1000 km.

I guess my car buyer later will be pleased with my low mileage! Ha.

I'm about to buy PREVE CFE here are some question lingering in my head

-do it need third party voltage stabilizer for better performance and does it void warranty
**** better performance in what way?

-how about compare to Jazz S spec with lots of accessories and features taken out
-does the audio sound quality acceptable?
**** plan to install a subwoofer.

-is black ok, why less people buying black color
**** too hot? Black colour will "adsorb" more heat than lighter colours. To me, black Preve does not look good/nice.

-if i change front grill does it void warranty - what will really void the warranty anyway
-it uses turbo, willl it cause problem in the long run? what about at constant high rev, is it stable enough
**** why problem in the long run? I thought turbo reuses some of the exhaust gas as there is some unburnt petrol in there.

-is it worth the money or any other option should I consider considering the same amount of money

please advise. tired scrolling of 21version of the forum

Wah, lucky guy! And good SC manager who is aware of your problem and constraint.

Now your Preve must be like a quiet stealth car! Ha.

Can be low battery or loose battery connection.

Manual page 157 states there will be a warning light if the battery is low. Any warning light on the remote key?

It's written on the manual.
Forgot how much the distance d. You may check it there.

Within 20 m radius.

But also depends on environment, building, etc.

If it has to be very close to the car (say 1 or 2 m), then something is not right.

Like to get some feedback from those playing songs from pendrive via USB media in your Preve. OK to leave the pendrive in the car? Or CD? 100% no problem or may get damaged over time under the hot sun?

Thanks.

I am using this: user posted image

32GB and it contains all my music, personal POI & speed trap alerts. I leave it in the car 24/7 unless I'm updating my music library. Seems to be just fine even after 1 year. But it is Sandisk, which is a well known brand. Bought it at Low Yat Plaza.

Just curious, how many of new Preve follows the instruction - after starting the engine, wait for the operating temp to reach mid way before driving it away (see page 92 for more infor)? Wonder how long will it take to reach the required temp. Seconds or minutes?

Or is this more applicable to the cold countries in Europe?

It says  *don't* idle for too long to save fuel. I don't idle my car. Start then just drive sensibly. It gets to operating temperature much faster that way.
*
Thanks.

But I was not referring to idling. What I was wondering was whether drivers wait for the operating temp to reach the mid level before moving the car. And whether that was for starting the cars in cold countries.

Well, it says -18*C and below or after the car has not been started for a few days. For me the most idling when warming up I do is 30 seconds. I feel it is a waste of fuel. But unfortunately the reality in KL is that you idle for a few minutes in each traffic jam. A few days ago I took 40 minutes to travel about 2 km, in Federal Highway between UMMC & Angkasapuri.

Do you know with a/c on, Preve drinks about 2/hour of fuel? That's RM4.20 per hour idling. Turn off the a/c it gets down to 1.1L/hour.
*
Thanks for all the infor!

I have started to switch off the engine while waiting in the car some months ago. I can still get 9.7 km per litre even with my 13 yrs old Wira.

Myth Buster on telly showed the study on fuel saving - with ac and with windows winded down for cooling. Proved that even with the additional wind drag due to the opened windows, it is more fuel economic with the windows opened and ac off! Ha. But there will be some asking, then what is the point of having the ac? Ha.

haha well i think not really working in Malaysia, the crazy weather plus the bloody smoke from all the lorries and busses..summore with out petrol and diesel's quality...it is just not practical to be used in our land...

that being said....convertible and car with sun roof also does not seems wise to be used or buy here...
rainfall come all of sudden and which malaysian wanna get sun burn here...? bear in mind one also has to pay more for convertibles and the sun roof
*
True.

Can still try opening the windows when on highway, clear & cool day.
