Random hazard light is common for Preve. Leave it, it's fine.
How about shutting down the engine immediately after parking? I don't smell fumes from my car.

QUOTE(plumberly @ Aug 19 2014, 09:29 AM) Interesting. I don't get the helicopter sound and maybe that is because I have not braked when going at 60 kph. Not limited to 1500.Do I read it correctly that this free brake helicopter sound repair is only for up to 1500 km and after that it will be on own account? Hope not. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(judge-the @ Aug 26 2014, 09:02 AM) guys, need some advice... My Preve LE has scraped the ground numerous times. Some slopes were clearly known to be too steep, I totally stopped the car but as I inch forward, I hear the scraping sound, I move another inch forward, continuous scraping sound.is it advisable to install r3 bodykit with the standard 16" rims? almost going for r3 but last minute changed my mind after i whacked my standard bumper yesterday morning |

The stock 17" tyre is slightly smaller diameter than 16".

QUOTE(Yoooo @ Sep 2 2014, 10:36 PM) True as well lah... Haha.... BMW also like this. No one complains.btw, my friend told me that this Preve's doors (included passenger's side) can be opened by 2 times of the handle even the all doors have been locked previously. Is it true? sounds like dangerous if fetching children at the back... |

QUOTE(Yoooo @ Sep 3 2014, 11:55 PM) After listen to you all seems like the only way is to use child lock..... My father has a Mercedes that will open with 1 pull even locked from driver side, unless child lock is enabled. I am now mid 20s, survived in that car without falling out. Parents however did educate me not to play with the door lever when young. No choice if really want to buy this car.... |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Sep 10 2014, 02:01 PM) I think the average FC also depends on the average speed. E.g. I travel more or less the same route for work everyday. I keep track of FC using fuelly. If I look at the cluster, it's only reporting 7.9L/100KM @ 34km/haverage speed..... average FC 20 ...................... ~12 90 ...................... ~7 110 .................... ~9 besides variables like start/stop, slowdown, sudden acceleration, etc. I will try to get my average FC and average speed and see if I can get a graph to illustrate this. My 2 cents. |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 10 2014, 08:32 PM) For those who want to achieve better FC in the Preve Turbo, you may want to try driving in Manual mode instead of D and maintain the speed at around 80km/h (rpms at 2000+/-) in both city and highway driving conditions. Use the paddle shifters to upshift to the highest gear possible. I find the fuel economy to be slightly better if driving appropriately in Manual than in D, but you have to play with the pedal. Avoid stepping on the accelerator for too many times and be gentle with the footwork. Is '7' lower RPM than 'D' on your car at 80km/h? My car seems to have lower RPM in D than any other manual gears, but I did not look specifically to 80km/h.Of course, it gets tired after a while and back to D. Even using cruise control will raise the RPM around 100-200 RPM. Or are we having different ECU software version? This post has been edited by mengsuan: Sep 10 2014, 11:16 PM |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 12 2014, 11:12 AM) In contrary to your belief that Manual mode uses more fuel, my experience proved otherwise. It may be useful not to judge purely on the lower RPMS you are getting in D alone, but in actual real life driving conditions. You have to bear in mind that even if Manual mode registers a higher RPM than D in any given speed, just by keeping the RPMs below 2000 in Manual mode will register good fuel economy too, and in my experience better than D. But driving a CVT in manual mode negates the advantage of infinite gear ratio. Also, in terms of acceleration, M mode is poorest, second is D, best is SI have been driving the Preve Turbo for 13 months now and the petrol will need to be refilled in the 4th day(about 100km+/- left of petrol). For the whole of last week I was on Manual mode 95% of the time, I refilled on the 5th day with about 150km left. Also, as a rough check, one may look at the "km left" on the display screen to judge whether D or Manual mode is more economical after a routine day's trip. With Manual mode, I seem to have more kilometres on the meter left after one day trip(more fuel left in the tank). A disclaimer that since traffic conditions and driving patterns are not fixed variables, the comparison is not an entirely accurate assessment but still, the results do show. QUOTE(fwhoam @ Sep 21 2014, 10:17 AM) thinking of getting 225/45/17 The following should be no problem:But scared it will hit body when full load. is it ok with 215/50/17? comfy enough? 205/50/17 215/45/17 (stock LE) 225/45/17 215/50/17 (wheel diameter larger than all above. only for 7.5jj and less rim. high risk of hitting fender for wider rims) |

QUOTE(fwhoam @ Sep 22 2014, 02:18 AM) thank you very much mengsuan Don't save on tyres, it's important. At this tyre size, prepare around 500-600 per tyre. I think i will go with 225/45/17 any brand to recomend? budget below rm400(cheper is better) I don't know much about performance tyres, but I've been looking at quiet tyres. Michelin Primacy 3 ST and Yokohama Advan dB. If want cheaper, moderate noise levels, good braking distance: Goodyear Triplemax If you want fuel saving tyres, I'm not sure how many models have this tyre size, but this can be quite interesting too. Anyway, 225/45/17 would be least fuel saving in the mentioned tyre sizes because it is widest. |

QUOTE(terryble @ Sep 22 2014, 12:38 PM) I just googled up and understand what the above means... Definitely the stock 16" is more comfortable than LE's 17". You can go wider tyres by a little, there's a range of acceptable tyre width in reference to your rim's width.for those who are noob like me...please refer here TYRE TALK - WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEANS Wonder what is the tyre size for stock Preve 16 inch rim~~? it is 205/55R16 - so if i understand correctly, compare to LE's 215/45R17... Preve stock tyre has less tyre width (-10mm) and thicker side walls (+16mm)....can i also translate this to Preve's stock tyre is by nature aimed for comfort and less performance as compared to LE one? But given that the rim size is fixed (r16 for example)~~can it cater for different tyre width? |

QUOTE(judge-the @ Sep 30 2014, 07:19 AM) boss, i'm using r3 bk at the moment and i never regret getting it at all. only problem is when you are going over bump or go into basement or roof parking. the bodykit is very low and that was why i decided to to change my rims to 17" with (215/50/17) tires even though my preve is 2 months old. yet, i still scratch the front bumper from time to time. go do balancing/alignment also have to tell the shop please be careful where to place the jack... my side skirting cracked when i did on-wheel balancing 2 weeks ago Yup that's me! Paradigm mall was first incident. The Akademi Etiqa then Genting Hotel parking, then Wisma Sime Darby and many more. We can almost populate a list of ramps that our Preve with R3 body kit cannot pass through without touching the bumper. just to share with you, my car cannot park inside terminal one seremban, ramp too high. palm mall seremban only can park first level roof parking. old wing 1utama open space parking also have to be very2 careful scratched once. there's another forumer here said his r3 front bumper scratched at paradigm mall speaking about warranty, r3 ppl at proton COE said if using r3 17" rims won't void the warranty. proton edar SC senawang taipan said void warranty. previously my car cannot park inside the house (car porch too high) so just go ahead and change the rims again like i said, no regret going through all these... except for the side skirt cracked and colleagues laughing at me whenever my car going through bump Fortunately I have learned to stop or slow down at ramps and speed bumps, so far no crack yet, only scratches at the bottom of the bumper. |
