Is that your main door just after the demolished wall? Some people who believed in feng shui might not like a direct path to the balcony the moment they open the main door.
*
The grey door you mean? That's not my entrance, my entrace is beside the grey door after the wall. Moment I open my main door, it's facing a 'featured wall' as an obstruction, then you head right and straight that leads to the balcony.

You can refer to my picture below, my entrance can't be seen when I took photo from my balcony. If only I slant the angle from the corner, then the brown door is the entrance smile.gif Cina developer, guess they might hv thought of that perhaps?

How's the workmanship for your plaster ceiling? Has it been completed yet?
If good, can share their company name, contact and prices? Thanks

Nice sharing. Helped me a lot in planning for my reno. Mind to pm me the contact of your wireman?
Also, how's the sticking of your terracotta mosaic for kitchen backsplash? I was planning to DIY mine as well. What glue you are using?

Sure, will PM you shortly.
Good question, my other half mentioned to me the other day and I forgot what he said tongue.gif
Let me find out from him first or perhaps I might ask some advise from my contractor. Afraid that the mosaic won't stick because there's tiles behind.

Not sure if they sell something like these here?

LOL I guess by one look, the house owners there would easily know which property is this.
yes the beams are really the biggest eye sore, the showroom don't have these ..
I dropped fully following the sliding window at the wet kitchen all the way until the entrance. So that I spend lesser on my kitchen cabinets and goes all the way till the top.
The rest of the house I'm only dropping minimum about 5-6" because I don't want the rooms and dining hall to be so low with ceiling fans. Living room will be L box.

My 1143sf have this issue at the master bedroom, the large beam on top... yikes.. though I've plastered to "L" shape
That's why I choose to make the master to study, the other room to a room.

Hey there, nope that doesn't include wiring and installation of downlights yet.
I was quoted 10 downlights and wiring for RM500.

Yup I hired a main con to manage all these except for KC and grill.
Because I don't have time to run around and engage one by one sad.gif I trusted him and only go back to check once every 2-3 days. So far his progress is fast and good. Met the wireman and he's really kind and make suggestions to us and adapt to our needs. I haven't ask for his personal contact, he seems very loyal to my main con.

Sure I will PM you.

Do you mind pm your main con's contact? thanks a lot.

Yes that's right. My main con covers all the wiring to wet works aka tiling and hacking of my wall.
Reason bcos I don't have time to appoint them one by one as both of us are working full time, therefore we entrust the main con that gets everything done. Might be cheaper to appoint one by one, ie the main con fees is being waived in this way, but only if you're free to run over to your place most of the time to check on the work. And say in this case, my main con will be liable for his sub con's work since I pay to him. Both also with risk, but if the main con is good, then should be fine. Maybe some of the sub con you paid them for the job and they take their own sweet time. Whereas in my case, I guess my main con really push them hard to finish everything in at least 3 weeks time. I see vast progress every 2-3 days when I paid a visit. But of course, main con would hv tambah back on the price from the sub con to earn his share.

Personal preference and also the time you can spare smile.gif

He filled in the reno form with 2 indon names, but I don't know which areas, haven't seem them.
Maybe those were the 2 fellor who hack my wall

I've met these few person that day.

Wiring man : Chinese, about 50ties uncle, very nice guy and he will give feedback and opinion to us on the wiring points
Plaster ceiling: Chinese & Malay (looks like Sabahan to me), spoke to him for a bit, seems ok
Wet Works: Didn't meet them before but plaster ceiling guy said Chinese

They always sapu my lantai everyday before they leave, not clean clean but major pieces of the stuffs. Of course they still leave food and cigarette buds, quite common, I'm not particular as long as they don't damage any of my stuffs.
When I came back at night, all the wall hacking remaining are all kept in those construction bags.
Sorry to say I personally prefer Chinese work la tongue.gif
