yes. that jumping technique in stage 3.
and he went off to professional racing, after that losing again to takumi in stage 5.

there are 2 official professional racer that lose to takumi.
kogashiwa and tomoyuki.

i think due to a good relationship between takumi and kogashiwa, i can safely said it was kogashiwa who greet takumi.

the ride was given by his dad, to teach takumi how to drive 4WD car, so takumi can try to emulate 4WD style on FR car.

assuming that this is to show how takumi can save his tyre usage, the grip style that is almost same like shinji, and enhancing his braking technique.

i read manga, the dad is the one transplant the engine after takumi blew that one out.
i dunno man, that's the last time I read the comic. Back then got no internet, so relied on those slow but big compiled manga.

maybe, but who knows if kogashiwa and tomoyuki is in the same professional team lol.

as both guys said that takumi is not suited to professional racing due to his technique, so takumi went on helping his dad send tofu again.

Avex has confirmed that the New Initial D The Movie will be a trilogy. First part of the trilogy is called Legend 1 -Awakening- slated for release in theaters on August 23rd, 2014 (Japan Only) [confirmed]

i guess it will be based on Stage 1, Stage 3, and final stage accordingly

the engine was further tuned by project mechanic...there was a technical explanation toward the end which explain the 13k RPM....on the sheet it juz 9k RPM...with a max of 11k....

I straight away had a go at the episode and Daaang, it made me feel like a boy racer again. Wish I had the resources to get my car in good running condition, let alone pasang tweaks sana sini. I drive a 1995 volvo 940 turbo btw. Banyak gila duit keluar nak maintain kereta tu (well my dad bought it for the family and he's the one that spends money for maintenance...i just tag along and follow him to bengkel and cari spare part...point is banyak guna duit AND if you want to get best price, kena shop around la and haggle and that takes a lot of time haiz). I hope I can get a decent job in the future and keep the volvo and turn it into some sort of an AE86 perfmoring like- car lol. Man, gotta love Initial D!!!!

FYI in manga Bunta really scrap the AE86 off while in anime he allowed Takumi to continue using it.
