During the race, the kid leads, Takumi follows.
Halfway through the race, the kid double signal and let Takumi pass, made Takumi puzzled.
The kid didn't see what he wanted when trailing behind Takumi, he dangerously passed him and bumped him from the inside, passing him.
Half-way through the race, Takumi used his vanishing trick again by turning off his headlamps and only turned them back on when he was beside, almost finishing the overtake, making the kid unnerved and lost concentration but recovered soon.
Due to different driving patterns, Takumi's front tires worn out faster (the kid has 13 years of daily experience on the course) and knows what speed to exit and enter corners. Hence, Takumi understeered and allowed the kid to bump him twice and finally overtake.
A few continuous 's' corners before the final hairpin, Takumi turn off his headlamps again and gave the kid a slight nudge, scaring him. Mid way through the last hairpin, he turned his headlamps back on and noticed his engine rev-ed till 13k RPM, blowing his engine, tires locked and spun. Being experienced a blown engine in the past, he instinctively clutch in to free the wheels and crossed the finishing line in reverse.

Note: Ryosuke tuned the AE86's 4AGE 20v to have peak power at 9k RPM, 2k down from the 11k to balance between power and durability and to have more mid-range torque by having a flat torque curve.
