QUOTE(joytest @ Sep 13 2014, 05:12 PM) Hi all, lively discussion for KitKat. I know who is that person. He is really piss off with Huawei, giving twice false promise. Actually is not Kitkat update that is important but the advertised feature. At least update to have the DTS and other feature working properly.I was told that the Huawei MY FB site is flooded with unhappy users not getting KK for the X1, but it looks like a Mr. Lim Chin Wee is the one raising hell. Anyone from here? https://www.facebook.com/HuaweiDeviceMY/pho...otal_comments=3 Still, Huawei should just release the damned fw since it is already available for 503L and 501L Europe. HuaweiDeviceMY are you listening to your users? |

I do agree that there is currently no other that can replace this Mediapad X1. For me, it still almost complete. I have managed to change the firmware of 7d-501L to 7d-503L firmware which is running at emui 3.0. It worked wonder and the phone is much faster now. Even the ram management is better, it have about 1GB free ram. Just that this firmware does not have google services but that can be installed very easy without rooting the phone. EMUI 3.0 is really nice, so far the firmware is good, it have not lag or hang.

QUOTE(joytest @ Nov 17 2014, 12:23 PM) Bro, mind sharing how to fake 501L to install a 503L ROM ? Hi Joytest, that is what I did to update the 7d-503L firmware,I downloaded the EMUI 2.3 320dpi beta, but can't install it. My Chinese is not good enough to read thru long blocks of text on huafans 1) Download the attachment is this page (download.zip), http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-med...20-dpi-t2923307 2) Unzip the file, you will find 2 folders and 2 file. Copy all the content to your microsd and put it under dload folder. 3) replace the update.app with the EMUI 2.3 320dpi beta update.app that you have downloaded earlier. 4) insert to your phone and reboot, it will start the firmware update. Note: Please ensure your data is backup as it will erase all the data and content. I hope this help as this is what I did for the EMUI 3.0 beta. |

Good to hear that you managed to update the firmware to 7d-503L. This firmware is on phone mode. 4G work fine with this firmware.

I have both malaysia 7d-501L and China 7d-503L set with me. Both work fine here. The china set, 7d-503L lte work here, I have tried with Digi LTE, Umobile LTE and Maxis LTE. All work with no issue. So no worry buying China set, except warranty and need to manually install google services.
I have also change my local set 7d-501L firmware to 7d-503L firmware and it work fine. I have been using it for 2 months. QUOTE(supersonix @ Jan 21 2015, 05:09 PM) |

QUOTE(joytest @ Nov 12 2015, 03:19 PM) Well I do have Phab Plus too. Comparing both, I would say P8 Max is much more worth it The phone build quality is way batter, camera is much better, sound is excellent even better then phab plus, reception is way better. I could not find anything that phab plus is better than P8 Max. P8 Max beat Phab Plus is every aspect, larger battery, more RAM, bigger storage (64GB vs 32GB). |

I do not think X2 will ever come here, even P8 max will not come. X2 is available in Thailand same as P8 max. But both ia not available here and Sg. According to Sg huawei, they claim is their marketing decision. No point waiting. If u want you need to get import set. I am using P8 max frm thailand.

QUOTE(joytest @ Feb 11 2016, 11:58 PM) Yup, absolutely. Huawei is doing this simply because they are not bringing in the newer model. I suspect is due to the production issue that is the reason why they are not bringing in those models. I saw the report from Europe that the P8 Max although launch there, the unit did not arrive until few months later. Even then, is very limited unit. Even in China, the sales is so good until limited stock.I have a hope for the M2 10" though, it might be 1899 or 1999 for the premium model, and hopefully beats the crap out of the Samsung Tab S. I can't understand why marketing people segment tech stuff which they don't really understand and screw it all up. |
