Why bother about bulk when you are protecting your device? A soft TPU case will do nicely as it is very thin and should be anti-slip.

I always recommend that all devices should be in casings but people usually don't listen.....

Hello there ! It's been a long time.

1. All reviews do find the speaker nicely loud and a firmware update should give it DTS.
2. Camera is good for a 7" device. It's supposed to be Sony sensor. Check page 1 for reviews by Bujal.x
3. Non - gaming performance is very good. It should be able to handle most games as well but likely have stutter at games with high detail, but nobody has complained yet.

Lowest price is Atlantis Comms in SS2.

No known issues out of the box so far except for occasional lag in youtube on some sites.

The default MultiScreen app is only accessible from the pull down menu...and it works with standard miracast or dlna.

It is being worked on by Huawei but I believe that China users will get it first.

I have wanted a small, portable computing device for a long time. Since 2011, the Note series fulfilled most of that requirement, but the screen was too small to be used for extended reading and was really lousy at content creation due to the lack of a physical keyboard.

The X1 has all the right boxes checked, like hi-res screen for good reading, large enough screen real estate to handle remote desktop access nicely, good battery life, sufficient RAM for all light computing use, and when paired with a keyboard and mouse, it can replace a notebook for light content creation.

Best of all, it is still pocketable and can be belt carried in a big-ish pouch.

Slightly OT but it seems that Malaysians lack in exposure to some things. Somewhat surprising to find a lack of awareness even for an electrical timer.

However, hopefully things improve as I saw that the government has mandated a power consumption rating for white goods like air conditioners and fridges. They have to display the total kWh consumption over the course of 1 year. This is a helpful way to spread awareness for consumption management and hopefully a smarter consumer base.

......There's one major reason why manufacturers are looking into using sapphire displays: The material is strong. Very strong. Sapphire is about four times as tough as glass. Gorilla Glass, regularly found protecting current smartphone screens, fares pretty well against hard objects too, but in order to scratch sapphire, you'd need to find something higher than nine on the Mohs scale.....

......There are plenty of other issues associated with sapphire. It's heavier than Gorilla Glass and the material remains less transparent than glass, meaning it would be more difficult to see the screen unless manufacturers add a special coating to increase transparency. (Even then, it still wouldn't be as good as glass.).....

....Additionally, each representative I talked to confirmed that while sapphire is durable, it certainly isn't unbreakable. In fact, the larger the display is, the more brittle it becomes; "The sapphire is too hard to withstand bending," said a representative of a top-tier phone maker who also asked to remain anonymous. "It's easier to break during drop tests when the size of sapphire increases."

..... The price of sapphire camera lens covers is 2.6 times higher than glass. On a large phone display, the difference in cost is even higher; last year, GT Advanced reps estimated the cost for a pane of Gorilla Glass at $3, while sapphire was around $30.

......Another representative replied, "In a cost-benefit analysis, I doubt [using sapphire] makes sense, unless there is some perceived marketing advantage." Despite the potential downfalls of using such a material, that's exactly what Apple would be gunning for by using the display in the iPhone: marketing power.
