QUOTE(velthan @ Apr 8 2016, 11:36 AM) Hi Jetta owners, I'm in the same situation as you.. Wanted to buy Honda city then noticed this VW sale.. I even test drive Jetta already but only got to know this gearbox problem.. N one of d forumer is right.. Feedback must be given by VW owner only can be reliable..Have thought to replace my Myvi with Vios, but then recent VW ads " Drop Everything’ Sale" Jetta selling at RM88k years 2014, the deal sounds good to me. Have a test drive Jetta, totally falls in a first test drive, very impressive with acceleration, stability and handling compare with vios. After Google it, the things that Malaysia feedback negative on DSG transmission. That why directly drop into forum asking real opinion Jetta owner's on the reliability of the car before making any decision on invest. Read here n there n pretend to be some sifu is really not helping at all.. Or maybe can just go car mechanic shop n ask d mechanic lol.. See whether VW owner still complain or not |

Whatever reason that you guys can think of not to buy the Polo/Jetta or Passat at those prices are pretty much invalid because of how cheap the car is now. With the warranty covering the major components of the car for 5 years and even factoring in all maintenance related cost, the car is still cheaper to own than any cars of the same and bigger competing segments

DSG? even with warranty coverage i think they just want a car with less hassle of constantly going to visit the SC...the issue here are rather on their mindset really.... just my 2 cents... |

Hi,if really have to ask - just stick to current car hahahahaha I didn't just drop by and simply throw my question without Google it, I just hoping someone in this forum gives me an actual view after so long, did VW fix the issue after changing the mineral oil. Then you buy back Japanese car if it is really something that concerns you - the reliability. But at 88k & 110k+, I really don't have much reason to not take the leap of faith. And at those prices, you pretty much have to accept whatever problems or not, the car has to give. Whether or not you want to take that chance is entirely up to you. But if you do, then can't complain. |

My jetta clutch wear out & jerking also can drive around for 3 weeks & then part come in to replace. No wonder more serious issue or breakdown dont get courtesy car. Wind noise issue higher priority. |

It comes with a powerful engine, with tonnes of bell and whistle. For a comparison, both Altis and Civic (the bigger ones) is nearly 130k, while Hyudai Kia offered their's around 120k. A price different of 30k, distributed annualy for 5 years, is RM6000 worth of AL, NPL or what ever leave you need to take for the car. |

QUOTE(JunJun04035 @ Apr 9 2016, 08:28 AM) just put in the perspective la. The jetta on offer is a 2014 jetta, it does sound like a steal for 88k, but bear in mind it's a 2 year old car even though it's in brand new condition with 5 years warranty upon purchase. Jetta is a C Seg car, albeit a little cramp at the back seats. It comes with a powerful engine, with tonnes of bell and whistle. Whereas the price you've stated for the japanese and Korean cars are new stocks manufactured and sold in the same year. so if anyone who's considering buying a VW on promotion, please also consider that the maintenance cost is not lower than a sub 100k Japanese or Korean vehicle. it is still a 130+ k vehicle to maintain. |

QUOTE(JunJun04035 @ Apr 9 2016, 08:28 AM) just put in the perspective la. actually dont worry..... there are plenty of malaysians outside bought VW bcuz of the pricing and doesn't think like what I mentioned above..... those who asking here are those that shouldn't buy it.... bcuz of the mentality.... 88k.... woah... so I must compare Jetta vs City full spec or Vios ful spec.... trust me.... when you look back... they reli do....
