Jetta selling at RM88k years 2014, the deal sounds good to me. Have a test drive Jetta, totally falls in a first test drive, very impressive with acceleration, stability and handling compare with vios. After Google it, the things that Malaysia feedback negative on DSG transmission. That why directly drop into forum asking real opinion Jetta owner's on the reliability of the car before making any decision on invest.

I would honestly tell you that you won't get your answers on this. The only way is to read all the old post and see comments and make your own judgement. This thread starter mozart89 ended up buying jetta sport and based on his feedback so far he don't encounter much issue after driving more than one year. You also need to understand what he did in order to maintain his car.

Alot of people complain about the problem they faced when driving their car but they never tell you what they did on it  that cause the breakdown. This is important. Some can be really design issue but other might be not following instructions, some just purely badluck and got a defective product. There is no one universal answer. Alot of them also heresay or never own one volkswagen so you don't know. trying to get more and more this kind of answer is wasting your time.

Volkswagen do not do this kind of huge discount sale everytime. My cousin got his polo GTI on this kind of sale last time and that was in 2007 or 2008.  Only after 8 years I encounter this kind of sale again. For me if I don't get one now I will regret forever. Honestly ask yourself when can you get this kind of pricing for a volkswagen car.

For those people who think volkswagen doing this kind of sale is because their reputation is stake therefore they need to dump price then you are wrong. Because they did this sale before in 8-9 years ago.

Whatever reason that you guys can think of not to buy the Polo/Jetta or Passat at those prices are pretty much invalid because of how cheap the car is now. With the warranty covering the major components of the car for 5 years and even factoring in all maintenance related cost, the car is still cheaper to own than any cars of the same and bigger competing segments

just put in the perspective la.

Jetta is a C Seg car, albeit a little cramp at the back seats. It comes with a powerful engine, with tonnes of bell and whistle.

For a comparison, both Altis and Civic (the bigger ones) is nearly 130k, while Hyudai Kia offered their's around 120k.

A price different of 30k, distributed annualy for 5 years, is RM6000 worth of AL, NPL or what ever leave you need to take for the car.

Quite sad with VW. Last time buy jetta rm120k.. now rm115k can get passat already...

What i can say, Once u drive conti, u will never want to drive japanese car back.. unless u r not kaki tekan..

if one does compare it to the compact segment car(below 80k) its just effing brainless to not buy the jetta

albeit the troubling issues which many have mentioend here -  every other car also have some form of issues

but in the case of VW, those troublesome parts which fails are some of the few most expesive parts of the car and could cause the car the just not move

but then again VW has come a long way in ensuring that this is reduced, by fixing and replacing them - but needs time

if you absolutely need a car, and cannot afford breakdowns - stop right here

dont ask anymore - stick to the japs or buy the city or vios or almera, or if you have been eyeing the altis or civic - stick to that

another thing some of you never look into is that - if you previously been eyeing the city or vios and now decides to jump to the jetta, dont forget to look into the service maintenance as well coz if you dont, 6 months later you will be here again complaining why the f are the parts so damn expensive

bear in mind, you are no longer serviceing a 80k jap car - though you bought a 88k car, but you are going to be servicing a 120k german car

Yaaaa.. since they already throw price for polo, jetta and passat.

And please take note. For those buyer bought vw starting on 1 jan 2016, u will not get any courtesy car if ur car in sc for warranty claim..
