seem like changing the screen from tn to ips for better color and viewing angle is confirmed workable.
anyone change the wifi card??? and the non-removable battery will be a headache in coming year.

if this three item can be messed around without any problem, this will be a great laptop.
the rest of the con - one hdd slot, no vga are nothing to be worried. rclxms.gif

VGA is quite a problem if you need to connect to a non-hdmi projector at work or working with your not-so-old but without HDMI monitor at home...

There are converters out there and most don't come cheap.

Hi there, some questions for the owners of the local set Y50. May I know what is your wifi card model? (as mine is the Qualcomm Atheros AR956X) And how do you think of its connectivity strength? Thanks for any clarification. rclxms.gif

Oh I see. I was wondering if anyone has any connectivity issues. Since this wifi card seems to be different from what the Y50 set in US and China offer as they using Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3160. I am not sure whether the local set wifi card is weaker in terms of performance theoretically? hmm.gif

Nope, the HDD has to swap out to accomodate SSD.

Yeah I'd like to know that as well..was just about to go buy it tomorrow at LYP, but if new stock coming in soon, I may wait a bit. Price still the same right? And how is Lenovo On-Site support by the way? Tempted to upgrade to the 3 year on site warranty. Thanks!
