maybe on how to buy the ori case from mi online sales, that should not be asked here. coz it will snowball to how to buy, shipping, transaction etc.

I think if forummers asking what gud casing to recommend. This type of Q&A is still acceptable.

guys, my Maxis plan is postpaid and without any data plan. Just wanna ask u guys if my setting is ok, scared it will use my data and later Maxis charge me. paranoid dy, just now maxis sms me said I reach RM216.

So I went to Security (app) > Data Usage > Restrict

For this part, i
1) disabled all data for downloaded apps
2) disabled all data for apps
3) disabled data for default settings for new apps. (setting icon top right)

Then I went to Security (app) > Data Usage > setting icon (top right)

For this part, i
1) Mobile data limit > Peak data limit being set to 1.00b.
2) Set data usage > didn't make changes to it
3) Restrict peak data usage > on
4) Allow background data > off



for this month this is my usage. duno why maxis send me the sms saying I used RM216.

any1 here without data plan? care to share how to make sure any apps dun suck up data in the background?

yup. Both turned off. But still itu system app used few kb. Maybe coz when I first boot up my mi3, it auto on my mobile network. so the system app used a few kb.

I still rmb dat day when I first turn on my mi3. Maxis send me few sms saying Your data usage has reached 5MB/RM50. Buy a monthly data plan at 500MB/RM38. and send me multiple time sumore. really scared.

then just now after my evening nap, Maxis sudd send me sms said I used RM216 dy. All diz while I turn off my mobile network. Posted in maxis forum, the maxis staff said unbilled amount is not final amount, they will make amendments and waive when my bill cycle reaches. But so far my unbilled amount memang is RM216.

Mine is the Maxis Business Value Plus Supreme. I also thot of adding internet plan. But Maxis said my plan x boleh. Basically my plan is pay per use. If dun use, that month is foc.

why shud I turn off 3G if i dun use data?

I also thot of buying dual sim too. Coz my Maxis post paid no data plan and I have broadband sim card for data. But mi3 specs and price too attractive dy.

So now planning to get a mifi so can use data otg.

aahh..i see. I oso felt weird, why change to 2G for calls. 3G shud have better coverage and call quality right. Yup. Data will always be off from now on.

ok, juz got feedback from maxis forum. Seems like they say I use around 15MB of data. And the thing is I dun have data plan. So they kira pay per use. 10cent/10kb. So it's around RM153. Nid to wait for the bill to come to double check.

The staff even recommend me dat I have no APN setting. Then even if I turn on mobile network, I could not access to the internet.

Phobia dy, deleted the Maxis Internet APN setting.

meh. prefer my current maxis plan. basically is pay per use. if didn't call, then dun nid to pay.

just that for data, I'll nid to use my Nexus 7 tab.

might consider changing to other maxis plan with data plan next time. My current plan serving me well. Just that diz mi3. It auto detect apn setting and configure for me. So if accidentally turn on mobile network, it will use data. My previous phone it does not auto detect and configure apn for me. So even if accidentally turned on mobile data, no data will go thru my phone. lol.

Today got update for stable build 4.3 kah? mine got 534.5MB update.

In Updater app, i tap check update, it says I'm running latest version. Running on MIUI JXDMYBD14.0 btw. When I tap on the menu capacitive button, i choose Get latest version of MIUI. The bottom Update option showing (534.5MB).

finishing updating, rebooting, now stucked at the mi xiaomi.com logo.

help guys, my mi3 stuck on boot.

After it finish updating, rebooting, now stucked at the mi xiaomi.com logo.

I tried holding down the power button, it black screen for a while, then still stuck at the mi xiaomi.com logo.

well, never boot into recovery b4 using mi3. lol. But i did made a backup using the backup app in mi3, still can restore data?

btw, wiped cache dy. In reboot option, got 2 choices.

done wiping cache, but not sure in system 1 or 2.

Try booting System 2, bootloop. Try booting System 1, can boot up dy, my data all intact.

1 question though, can we check which system we are defaulted to use? 1 or 2?

biar je la. sabar. I'm juz here for the technical stuff when my phone got prob. Other than that, just silent reader. As long as got forummer willing to help or explain when i face some technical prob like flash rom or wad, then I'm satisfied. For the other part, I just treat it as popcorn time.

unless sum1 willing to be fastpoke and open next v12 b4 current TS open it. Then there might be less issue.

It depends on what phone are u from and ur expectation. My previous phone is the Galaxy SL. Damn old dy. Jump to mi3, a decent phone finally. And I find everything juz nice. The size is nice, battery life is gud (without data), camera is pretty gud.

if use stable rom, not much bug. If developer rom, there will be bugs here and there, but they will update every once in a while.

whatsapp bug? what bug? notification not appearing? for that u just nid to do the settings in the Security app in mi3.

using it since 24th June. So far so gud, never force close, hang or restart itself through out this few weeks. For ur sis usage, everything shud b fine.

known issues? Never put empty micro sim adapter into the sim slot. It will kinda jam the slot iinm.

Well, imho, I think it's bcoz too much reports from this tered.

When seller see TS put siggy selling stuff, they report, when seller come in and advertise, TS report. So it bcum a game of reports.

Imagine if u are mod, u came back from lunch, surf ur lyn profile. 20+ reports in mi3 thread. memang headache, so can't blame them.

yea! The wifi damn strong. My laptop sharing lan connection with connectify. I go down stairs, and quite far. I'm surprised I can still connect to my room's connectify.

GPS damn pro. locks in within seconds, indoors and outdoors. Even better than my Nexus 7 2012.

For ur normal point and shoot usage, use the simple setting, it shud b ok. If u are photographic enthusiast, change to manual mode, play around with the exposure, iso and stuff, quality is not bad too.

Ur sister might fall in love with mi3's camera. They have auto photoshop aka meitu xiu xiu. It's like a software to enhance ur skin tone and apparently makes u look nicer in the pic. Can conceal ur pimples etc. Dun nid to install those photo editting software.

if u wan cheap, dun nid lte speed, dun nid microsd expansion, juz go for mi3. Girls in particular will like the camera.

if u wan better camera, lte, microsd expansion and water resistant, u will nid to pay extra for z1c. U get what u pay for. Z1C is definitely more expensive, but u get those lte, microsd, water resistant and better camera.

if u wan cheap, camera and lte is not important to u, Moto G.

if u wan cheap, got lte and camera not important to u, Moto G lte.

so basically, the question is, do u nid those added features like lte, microsd and water resistant?
