Add maths.... is basically useless unless you are going for VERY technical stuff.

Unless u targeting actuarial science/engineering... you can basically go ahead and drop it.

Add maths not really important ...

Unless you plan to go major in maths and going deeper into engineering.

After spm, can go a levels.

Not sure about stpm, whether you can continue on accounts without add maths.

I was in Science stream for stpm.

Matrix also, not really worth going to, cannot really prepare you for uni cuz syllabus is much easier than stpm.

You might get ( culture or education ) shock once you enter from matrix to uni.

Our additional mathematics syllabus is tailored for science degree admission. If your goal is to do medicine/finance/accountancy/law/IT etc., you won't lose out on much.

It's ok to drop add maths if you really can't do it. But in my very honest opinion, I encourage people to search for good tuition centres/home tuition like Kasturi Tuition Centre or anything, it will boost your weak skills up above par. I hated add maths during form 4 which I always failed (<30) but with the help of tuition teachers, I managed to get good results on add maths during form 5 and eventually got an A+ during spm. BUT if you have no slight interest on doing add maths, drop the subject. Well you did that.

If you pass your SPM (expected to be credit "C" and above), of course you can go to matrix, a level, anything. If you got D/E (normal pass/borderline pass) for some important subjects, some universities may not accept.

Frankly, you have to ask yourself before asking us what kind of job you can do. By knowing which routes, subjects or fields you're interested in, you can easily determine your future pathways/jobs. If you don't, a levels, matriculation, form 6, foundation are your choice, so that you will choose the subjects you're interest in and give you time to think. Career consultation from professionals are encouraged, but it's not good enough, you will have to acknowledge your skills.

no offence but if you cant do add maths it's either you didn't try hard enough or you are not cut out for science mathematics related courses because trust me, add maths is not that difficult compared to the modules you will be taking in university. not trying to intimidate you, maybe you could do language or essay based courses like history or economics. (bear in mind that thee are heavy maths based modules in economics such as econometrics, you cant run away from maths!)

maybe too late to rescue you ...

my first exam 7/100
from form 4 to form 5, all exam score hovering between 47-52.

I got C3 in SPM (paper 2, i did not finish half of the question), had NEVER gotten any chance to used any of the knowledge up until today.
already working for 12 years.

should have just keep the addmaths because just too many people suck at it and score are drag down so much that you get good grade by just not hand-in a blank paper.

Add Math so kacang also you cannot do? I seriously doubt if you have the capacity to do anything.

It is very basic and it helps you understand a lot of things around us better. I will seriously advise you BITE THE BULLET and do it. You should put more effort into understanding it rather than taking the path of least resistance.

Trust me, learning more math enable you to see the world differently.

Add math isn't very important. Take math in A levels, which I believe will cover the add math void. Further math is a completely different monster.
My university had a module for finance/econs students who did not take add math in high school or math in a levels (Add math on crack!). Sometimes, you're not the problem...it's just that the way math is being taught at schools is off putting. I personally dropped add math.

Drop addmaths. Even though I'm a tuition teacher, If you don't have the motivation to continue, might as well stop and be an accountant or whatever.

But at least let me break the misconception that you believe. Addmaths is not rocket science. Anybody can do well in any subjects, given the proper conditions and correct techniques to improve.

Maybe you could try find tuition teachers or teachers. Ask around, your friends, your maths teacher, even try asking your principal if you still can't find any. But the first step for recovery is admitting your problem.

That said, if you struggle to find tuition or proper help, then quit.
I know it may seem too hard. Maybe your classmates all also don't know or very bad at addmaths, or your teacher teaches it too boring, If the conditions or environment are too hard for you, it may be too easy to give up.

But be reminded, addmaths can be mastered by anyone, even you.

Maths in A-Levels is all Add Maths fyi, and that's only the first sem syllabus. If you already cannot cope with Add Maths during SPM, unless you work really hard during A-Levels, don't expect to get good grades.

Besides, without Add Maths knowledge, how can a person cope with mathematics in a Finance or Economics course?

I did not take add math in school, but my bachelor's degree is in Finance with Economics electives. I think I fared pretty well! You can; and like I have pointed out, sometimes it's the teaching that puts people off.

The math you study in university for Finance and Economics corresponds to to the syllabi in A Level Further Math, not A levels Math. Non computational math, proving theories, Chi square etc...

It's not wrong to drop add maths. I'm form 4 as well this year so I think you made a great choice for dropping it.

Firstly, with that sh*tty score, it's gonna drag your gpa down.

Secondly, why the F*ck you take add maths + accounts + economics at the first place?

Lastly, your job range will still be wide like heck as long as you get all credits at minimum during the upcoming SPM.
Without add maths, you can still be politician, entrepreneur, investment banker, stock broker, economist and the list goes on.

Hwaa you so stupid one ar?
Your school teacher didn't teach you?
In this case, its a good decision to drop add maths.

W/o add maths, you can definitely be a school teacher, teach English or Arts biggrin.gif

After all, why in the first place does an a/c student take add maths?
You should ask your teachers to guide you on what you can do after SPM w/o add maths.

Don't ask strangers what you can do... ask yourself what is your interest in life.
What is your ambition? Then explore this with your parents and teachers to
get the right education to achieve your ambition.

Since you so stupid, this is how you can get smarter.
Education is what people do to you.
Learning is what you do to yourself.

Good luck.

David is right. But Mixed rice stalls can earn much higher, about RM 8,000 to RM 10,000.

One dish typically costs RM 5.00. One table can accommodate 4 customers. There are 20 tables in a typical medium-sized restaurant. The peak hour lasts for 2 hours. The restaurant opens 26 days a month. You do the math and take 50% as the profits. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have no doubt that they do earn that much and I know the earning power for a fact. However, my post was meant for your statement on the following, "Better quit ur studies cox there is no job for graduates nowadays."

Now that is just not true even as an exaggeration. There are plenty of jobs for graduates. My organization is finding it hard to get people especially fresh graduates and i also belong to an association for an industry group that is also finding it hard to get graduates never-mind quality ones. If you had stated that for particular fields - the job prospects are bad, then it would be passable.

I actually look at the candidate more than the place where the person graduates from. If the person impresses me with his knowledge of the organization (which shows initiative), confidence, poise and ambition/hunger then I would just hire the person.
