I personally feel the club should sign lavezzi as suarez replacement.Maybe not as good but he is skillful and can take on players.Money shouldnt be an issue.

Wages, I'm sure Liverpool can match Arsenal's offer. Both club managements are equally shrewd.... or scrooge if you may.

BUT in Arsenal, they have a living legend & master tactician who is well known for grooming players to global stardom (only for them to leave club one by one).

Arsene is a respected manager in the continental scene and his reputation precedes him, been there and done all; whereby BR is just an upcoming coach, propped by his small success in Swansea before he gets the Liverpool hot seat. Sanchez's preference to play for Arsenal is indeed a direct hit to BR.

Arsenal's transfer policy is slowly changing, whereby we are slowly stepping into the old Arsenal's policy.

If you are in Sanchez's shoes, (without considering your allegiance to Liverpool), who would you play for? Not a difficult decision to make, really.

was praying hard that uruguay would have a bad wc so that suarez wouldnt have the chance to shine, yet he hits the media for both the right and wrong reasons. i am really not sure why would he go to barca when there is close to zero chance he will play through the middle as messi is easily the top dog there. zlatan is a good example and how he was forced to be shipped out because both he and messi cant play in the same team ACCORDING TO MESSI. i am bitter here but i know the club moves on, and no player is bigger than the club. liverpool f.c. comes first. i just wish he would've stayed as we were so close last season. with other teams strengthening too, the only major difference is us losing suarez, best player last season, top 3 the season before. we are losing a huge core of our starting 11. the spine of other top teams are still there. its easy to say for example if we land sanchez or shaqiri or reus or whoever, yes they are top players, but we all know how even the best of players need time esp when they go to a new country and league. its so close at the top and i'd hate for us to miss out esp top 4 as it is paramount that we have champs league every season, both for the revenue and attraction purposes.

looks like most of u are all focusing on the talents to add to the squad upfront but what about defense ? ashley cole anyone ? i'd still think hes top class. maybe a good year or two left in him. roma are favs as of now to land him and reports are that we are trying to get him too. for me, i think he will come good for us provided the wages are appropriate and not too high, if not we are btr off getting someone younger like moreno or rodriguez(swiss lb).

i've been following both itv and bbc coverage of the wc, and boasting pundits like shearer, r. ferdinand, cannavaro, henry, alan hansen, patrick vieira. im no pro player, but i do follow footie alot, and one consensus of the pundits that caught my attention was how goalkeepers is very important in not only giving the defense confidence, but also organisation and compactness. i'd usually place my blame on the lack of leadership in defence once carra left, and while skrtel stepped up in chipping in with goals and performance, his lack of leadership and voice hasnt help. when kolo was brought in, everyone tot his experience might be crucial, he did reasonably well in the first few matches and fell flat after a few months with a num of horrendous mistakes. i really like to see someone stepped up. sakho looks like he can be one, but he is inconsistent and he gives u the feeling that a mistake can easily happen at anytime. i hope to be proven wrong because 18mil for a defender is big money imo. i hope mignolet stepped up too. he was just slightly above average imo. the penalty save in the first game and a few good clean sheets esp at the start of the season prolly gave the fans a false sense of judgement. he made errors against city and chelsea which was very costly. prolly having reina around might be good in that he will provide competition.

Cole should be a good addition to us but i think we should go for younger target like Moreno, Rodriguez, Rojo or even Alex Sandro especially when now we had the money from the sales of Suarez.

barca accepted offer from Arsenal for Sanchez..so whats gonna happen with Suarez?

If Sanchez unwilling to move to Liverpool, Barca will pay around 70M ~ 90M pound to invoke Suarez release clause.

good first season in the bpl. was bought for 9mil. played well. was even in jamie redknapp's (sky sports pundit) team of the season. over inflated market. prices tend to go high when english clubs are involved. esp when a player was proven to be a success in the premier league. if u ask me, i'd say 20mil is a little high, but if we get him for 20mil, i'd pretty happy. no more than that though esp now that he claims that "his head is at liverpool".

I was curious so i checked the Saints forum to see what the fuss is all about. Apparently, he was among their best players last season. Some even claim that he was their best player and the one they really didn't want to lose. A real leader on the pitch who marshaled their defence. Posses good strength and is very aggressive (read somewhere he gets suspended quite often when he was with Lyon). Offensively, he can pass and dribble. Overall he sounds like a solid defender. Bit like a combination of Agger and Skrtel.

Checked out his stats and it's not bad with an average rating of 7.32. FYI Skrtel has better rating at 7.45, Sakho and Agger has 7.04 and 6.99 respectively. Is he worth 20mil ? I think anything around 15-20mil sounds about right.
