Owners are laughing their way to the bank but not the fans. FSG will be contented with the "business" they have done in Liverpool but the team will always stop short when it comes to winning silverware. Short of that one two quality players which we need desperately. The game changers. It is that narrow margin that will cost us dearly.
I'd like our club to be financially healthy but at the same time, I want our club to be able to splash on quality if the price is right. Liverpool must be able to show ambition to its current crop of players (Suarez - well he's gone, Coutinho, Sterling, Skrtel, Henderson, Sturridge) that the club mean business when it comes to recruiting players. Or else, I can bet my ass that Sterling will hand in his transfer request in 4 years time.
Liverpool is not a transit station to Barcelona or Real Madrid, we need to restore our status as one of the powerhouse in Europe....and managing the club like Arsenal model will just end up like....Arsenal AT BEST. and that is if BR can emulate Arsene.....
Got to agree with it, and for the Sterling part, apart from Sterling, I think even Sturridge might hand in his transfer request in years time, if Liverpool doesn't win any silverware, and not even show the ambition to win it. Well the ambition I am meaning there is to splash the money when the time is right.

Well, the real reason Arsenal fail to keep all of these players was simply because of financial reason (obviously due to the construction of Emirates stadium).
I don't know why people, including some of our very own fans, tend to ignore this fact.
We need at least 20m a year just for the loan re-payment. Not to say about interest etc.. Plus the emergence of Chelsea and City with their unlimited money just made things worse for us.
Like it or not, Wenger did wonder in keeping us in CL all these years with, fairly to say, an average squad.
About nurturing young/unknown players, I won't say the formula is not working. But I would say it didn't go the way we wanted.
Had we able to keep all those players together (the likes of Nasri, Adebayor etc), I believe we wouldn't go trophyless that long (it was actually 9 year

).
Plus, how Arsenal are suddenly capable to splash the cash in making such big signings now is not a coincidence.
Club always said there will be 10 'buffer' year after the Emirates project before we can compete again, and the time has arrive.
I heard Liverpool also planning to build a new stadium. So, you guys can expect the same outcome, unless you can produce a very good core of players right now or maybe get the money to fully funded the project from somewhere.
Peace!
Well, I got to say its hard to be Arsenal fans all these years, I always listen to my friend complaining that Arsenal always sell off their best player, and every season not willing to splash money to buy a good replacement.
And I don't think anyone would disagree that Arsene is the best in nurturing young talent.
I am really happy that Arsenal finally splash cash on players, and no doubt next season is going to be very interesting. Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea's squad is so terrifying, MU had comes very good with LVG in charge. MCity? no comment, they are always very good.
