I don't think so, the competition of smartphone market will be cut throat in the future. In order to convince customers to buy, smartphone vendors need to offer higher spec at low price. Mi4 is launching with same price last year like Mi3 but offer better spec (3GB RAM, LTE, faster processor) and metal casing. Mi3's pricing has been dropped because they are old model compared to Mi4 but still keep selling...
Just today ASUS launched PadFone S with SnapDragon 801 for RM899, RM100 lower than Honor 6, see the trend here?

Right now is a transaction from 32bit to 64bit SoC for android. 28nm to 20nm layer.LPDDR3 to LPDDR4 ram.
If you can hold your urge to upgrade to next year you will see huge drop in price for 2014 flagship once the market fill with those spec which is expected to be in Q1&Q2 off 2015.
Although that is just my guess.
That is so true. By then some wouldnt want the 2014's but 2015's flagship. And some would just wait 2015 for 2014's phones. The trend is going to keep that way. Even smart tvs. So its up to yr choice. If you can hold your urge to upgrade to next year you will see huge drop in price for 2014 flagship once the market fill with those spec which is expected to be in Q1&Q2 off 2015.
