Hi vemaltech
I understand now why you insured at a high value.

Anyway, like I said earlier, adhere strictly to the service schedules and you'll have no problems. You are very lucky to get this wonderful & great car at such a good price. You'll enjoy this car very much!

Cheers bro thumbup.gif

Hi Everyone,
Am planning to get a pre-owned 408 Turbo. Just test drive one at Bukit Jalil Autocity today. Love it. But unfortunately the salesman told me the warranty is void due to the previous owner changed the sound system. Just for the benefit of doubt, is the warranty for the car so strict? And how to confirm whether the car is still under warranty? That's one of my biggest concern. smile.gif

Hi bro
Peugeot France is very strict on warranty. To confirm warranty, email Clic Peugeot, the car reg number. They'll tell if warranty is void. They are also on Facebook. I suspect warranty may be void due to non compliance of service schedule. Used car dealers only want to make a quick buck, they are not interested in service schedules.

It does not mean this car is bad. I suggest you look whether the car is worth buying without warranty. IMO it is worth buying if the price is right. it's my 4th year of ownership. My reasons for saying it's worth it are as follows:
1.The engine & gearbox are reliable, I have had no problems up to now. No complaints from other owners too. Some complaints about sensors, which are not very expensive to replace.
2. Spare parts are reasonable, they are available at Peugeot spare part shop. I just bought rear brake pads for $160/-, ABS sensor for $190/-.
3. Now more Peugeot workshops are available, so maintenance and repairs are getting reasonable. No need to go to Service centers for cut throat price.
4. For the price, there is no other car to match performance. It is a very enjoyable car.

No need to worry bro. Many of us here at this forum are well versed with this car. Always willing to give you a helping hand. Go for it, you'll thoroughly enjoy this Lion! nod.gif

Thanks for the explanation, Skyjack... Certainly gives me the confidence to get one... However if the car is under warranty, we must go back to SC for repair and maintenance right? Do you know any Peugeot workshop in Subang or Shah Alam area? Is the clic Peugeot email clic@naza.com.my?

Yes if the warranty is valid, keep it current by servicing at Peugeot SC. Certainly the warranty is valuable. Although in my case, last 3 years I only claimed 2 minor items. That itself is a testament to the reliability of this model.
