IMO, not that practical to lock down your fund into FD in order to get equivalent credit limit.

any particular reasons to upgrade to Platinum besides the higher credit limit?

Hi guys, currently my statement date is on 8th day of every month, and payment due date is on 28th.

Can I request Maybank to change my payment due date at beginning of each month? Because my salary is on at 30th.
*
you cant change the due date. you can only change the bill date.

so far, the bill dates are as follows: 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 26th, 28th, end of the month.

best would be bill date = 12th, so that the due date = either 1st or 2nd of following month (except on March whereby Feb has lesser days).

so sifu ~ which is better? visa or amex on paypal?

i'm still thinking which to use ~ =_="
*
now sure about visa's conversion rate, but here's a comparison for amex conversion as of 28-Jun:

USD1.95 = MYR6.43

i was confirming my amex to paypal, RM1.95 transacted on 28-Jun, posted on 29-Jun, listed in M2U on 30-Jun.

It's my time to contribute after being a hidden reader here biggrin.gif

@OP, we need update the first page regarding maxis payment and I got some assistance from jovenne

Maxis does accept AMEX but only via phone. It's not automated but can be done with AMEX

1) Dial 123 to Maxis centre on Friday night.
2) Speak with customer service representative to request AMEX team to call back you on Saturday morning to proceed your payment
3) On Saturday morning, Amex team will call you back and confirm with you on the payment details.
4) Tada Done smile.gif
*
refer bottom of Page 3.

QUOTE(bitcomet79 @ Jun 30 2014, 04:20 PM)
can i know where to register for your AMEX CC with maxis before calling 123?
cause i haven't register yet.....pls help  icon_question.gif  notworthy.gif
*
just a request for Maxis to call you back.

the frontend payment gateway doesnt accept amex. maxis only able to manually process payment via amex.

this is similar to Etiqa OneLine renewal. Website doesnt accept AMEX, but if you call them on Saturday, they'll manually process payment on your behalf (getting card info from you).

upon checking list, seems that for average daily user mbb2 amex is great for petrol during weekends, but not accepted for most small groceries (except big one)..

what other mastercard/visa cc to complement this card which offer cash back?
*
each card has its own cashback T&Cs and also highly dependent on your spending behavior.

OK boys and girls. GOOD news!

1) RM50 GST for approvals before 9 July 2014, and shall be perpetually RM50 (i.e. next year will still be RM50).

2) RM100 GST for new approvals from 9 July 2014!

*Update: Wanted to cancel the Visa/Mastercard. They cannot cancel only 1 card. Both cards must be canceled. Reason is that both cards are actually tied as 1 card account. So, they're actually cancelling at account-level.

can the CS really confirm this....not in website or T&C right?
and what when our card re-new (eg. card expire on August 2014).....after re-new still rm50?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  icon_question.gif
*
i called CS to confirm it lor.

First, CS didnt aware. then put me on hold to check. later came back confirming RM100 GST effective 9 July for new signups only.

Then I drilled more about existing cardmembers who's goings having anniversary this or next year. CS reconfirmed that existing approved cards (before 9 July) will still maintain RM50 GST.

It would be great if we can get a black & white on this new disclosure. What about if my card expires next year? Am I considered as a new signup?
*
yup, better wait for Maybank to publish the notice (if they ever plan to disclose this) or FAQ set.

my Q&A with CS is purely verbal and verified on-the-spot. Hopefully they're giving me a correct answer sweat.gif

QUOTE(virgoguy @ Jul 9 2014, 05:27 PM)
So mean this year or next year still remain the same GST for the existing 2kard holder, the following year you still need to pay RM100 for GST and another RM100 for supplementary.

So conclusion, you got a year time to look for CC replacement if you want to cut 2kards  sad.gif
*
based on cards' approval date.

RM50 GST for cards approved < 9 July 2014 ≤ RM100 GST for cards approved

i jz enjoyed this card for a month+ sad.gif
*
why what Maybank told me is accurate, your current card wont be affected. only new signup (i.e. approval) from 9 July onwards will bear RM100 GST.

QUOTE(bitcomet79 @ Jul 10 2014, 01:27 PM)

yep, that's what Maybank CS told me after i found out this RM100 GST in this topic.

i pray hard that their info is accurate especially for current card users. sweat.gif

Confirm current users wont be affected? Did they make an announcement on their website? seems no. How can they alter the GST fees without informing all the CC users.  mad.gif
*
beats me. anything 'bout GST, they were silence. not sure if they ever going to blast the announcement.

in my case, my GST charged in Feb. My concern was the same as other existing users. frm what CS told me, i will only be charged RM50 GST on the following years.

when i drilled further, the 9 July is seems to be the cutoff date segregating between RM50 GST vs RM100 GST users.

Any idea specifically on what date they will charge the GST RM50 on our CC ? They charged the GST last month, I started using the card on february.

If they are really charging RM100 for GST, I also hv supplementary card under my name, total GST gonna be RM150 !  vmad.gif
*
it's actually simple.

if you're an existing user (i.e. cards approved) before 9 July 2014, the cards will maintain its original RM50/RM25 GST.

if you're a new user on or after 9 July, then the cards will have RM100/RM50 GST.

Seriously cc BNM?
BNM intention is the bank shouldn't absorb the GST imposed by the government except by way of offsetting bonus point i.e. no matter how the customers should pay for it.
*
biggrin.gif i wasnt challenging the how maybank absorb the GST. i was challenging on the mechanics of new GST charges:

1) Existing cardmembers, RM50/RM25 GST charged prior to 9 July 2014. What are the GST charges for subsequent anniversaries?
2) Existing cardmembers, RM50/RM25 GST have not been charged prior to 9 July 2014. What are the upcoming GST charges and subsequent anniversaries?
3) New cardmembers on or after 9 July. New RM100/RM50 GST will be charged and subsequent anniversaries?

i also challenged maybank why they did not disclose the revision up front prior to effective cutoff date (9 July).

*update* JUST received an email from Maybank thumbup.gif

Thankfully I just upgraded mine to Plat on early June, but my anniversary month still follows my previous Gold card which is July.

So I should be expecting my GST to be charge in this 2 weeks, will revert whether I've been charge once or twice GST on this. Hopefully is only once as per email that you all mention.
*
my svc tax for Gold charged on Feb (anniversary month), upgraded to Platinum on April. CS told me "new" svc tax after upgrade will be charged again in 3 months time. Then come June, svc tax charged but automatically paid to Amex Platinum, but no sign of svc tax charge for Visa Platinum.

it seems as long as this year there is no GST service tax charged, it will be a 1 time charge.

since your Platinum upgrade was done before your anniversary month (July), i guess there will be a 1 time charge of RM50.

The odd part in my short and little experience is, maybank charged me AFTER (in my 3rd statement, 2 months later) my card has been approved for awhile whereas other bank just charged when it was approved.
*
good summary smile.gif that's what i observed too.

for Maybank, even upgrade from Gold -> Platinum, the service tax doesnt get charged upon upgrade approval. Mine got charged 2 months later.

for HLB, i recently gotten Wise card. GST immediately charged into my card's account on approval date, and i only gotten the physical card 1 week after approval and 1 week thereafter i gotten the PIN to use HLB Connect to check the transactions. doh.gif
