Threadstarter, if you think people in lowyat.net forum spend alot in ICE, and if you think that ICE is just for DUB DUB DUB, you're wrong. Go do your homework before bombarding people okay?

go to mycarhifi.com and read up. See how people spend their money and what they know about ICE. They know every single detail. ICE is not just about DUB DUB DUB. For those ppl who DUB DUB DUB, they don't know what is ICE, they know what is DUB DUB DUB.

ICE is a hobby, why would someone risk his/her life doing things like bungee jumping, base jumping, or whatever.

Why would someone spend tens and thousands of DOLLARS for a single piece of baseball card with just a picture of player holding a bat? Does that satisfy them? Why would someone spend so much money modding their Casing? IT'S HOBBY for god's sake?

Are you sick of this because your children spends too much money in ICE? Then go speak to him/her and stop starting useless thread saying it's useless.

its like computer also... today you spend 10K on them... the next day another new and better thing came out... you like it then you will spend another amount of money to hav it... so ICE and computer is basically the same thing...

wasting or not... well if you are not into it... then sure you say its wasting to put in so much money, effort and time jus to listen to music... or probably you will say "got sound then good liao"... but i am serious about getting the best sound from my system and i spend 3 hours of my weekends to "take care" of my system... and when i got the right tuning and setting, i think the money is well spent... not at all wasting because i got what i wan...

so its like a man's food is another's poison... no point if we keep arguing here... a person who go for car performance will say tht ICE will jus get him slower as it adds weight... my brother is a "rare car accecories" collector... he spends hundreds jus for a rear view mirror, hundreds for a rare momo steering... a few thousand for a slightly torned recaro A4... and in my opinion, its wasting, but for him, its pleasure...

I was a newbie in ICE and I had the same thoughts of people putting so much into it too until I upgraded my sound system..

but then now I understand the difference between SPL and SQ which ppl like the threadstarter wouldn't understand....

erm....last tim i used 1.5k...now use 3k d......

You can tune for imaging/soundstage, stage height etc but you just cannot tune tonal quality, you'll have to buy it.
I'll salute to anyone who can tune a Mohawk to sound like Dynaudio.
