I cannot brain people who pick Furion against Tinker.
Equally frustrating is being blamed for a lack of farm on a hard carry when there's zero support.

Honest question, why do some of you feel intimidated when invited by higher ranked players?
IMHO, if they invite you, they're not ashamed to play with you, and you should make the most of it by learning from them. Decision-making is hard to teach, and the best way to develop it is to play together and ask "Why did you do this?" or "Why did you prefer to buy item X over item Y?" Also, a 3k player that queues with a 5k one will meet 4k players on average, and that gives you good experience on what to expect in the next bracket and how to get there. |

QUOTE(l4nc3k @ Jul 14 2014, 01:28 PM) I just started dota this year and had a lot of chances (from recommendation of friends) to play with 4k~5k players. i played a few games with them (mostly as support, sometimes offlane) and always ask their honest opinions. Apparently individual skill is okay - weaker than 4~5k but can still dont feed and get last hits properly, have proper game mechanics knowledge etc. the problem lies in decision making, which you can learn a lot from higher ranked players - when to go in, should we push t3 or let our t1 go, trades, etc. all these you can't really learn by playing with same ranked players / solo queue pubs. My point exactly. There's much to be learnt, especially from better players.teamfights also is one thing - a lot of fights i thought that we will lose, we won. what i do is basically just follow the team captain's decision making. having 5 people committed to a fight is better than 4 players going in and 1 player running away. tl;dr: playing with higher ranked players increased my decision making significantly, and the peer pressure actually makes me improve much faster than playing random solo queues. QUOTE(Agito666 @ Jul 14 2014, 01:45 PM) play with 3k ranks this is what you will get No offence, but first pick Sniper confirm kena rape one. Even if your allies are competent, 90% chance your enemies will counterpick you. When picking taufufa heroes, I usually tell my allies what I want to pick, and say that I'll pick it last. Gives them time to decide whether or not to cooperate. More often than not, they'll either acknowledge my choice or suggest another hero. One the odd occasion that I get stubborn donkeys who don't reply and pick 3 carries, I pick whatever I wanted to and just play my own game. Ward my own lane, and farm quietly. End result = most of the time still lose, but highest gpm/xpm on team, with highest kills, least deaths, and most assists.http://dotabuff.com/matches/773310820 i remember i pick sniper like first 2 time, then the last 3 player pick this shiat and in the end i still buy ward. the one who say will support (mirana) doing shiat anyway. seriously.... why i can't have a nice game. QUOTE(dps404 @ Jul 14 2014, 02:09 PM) once my friend invited me to play with mushi but unfortunately the difference in mmr exceed 2.5k I've played with Yamateh a couple of times back in D1. His farm speed is incredible, and his lane aggro is seriously annoying.kesian lose chance play with idol. As for D2, I've played with TFG, Misery, Pajkatt, and Johnny. Misery & Pajkatt are my favorites though, so chilled. I die gila gila also they say "Don't worry, we got this." |

QUOTE(dps404 @ Jul 14 2014, 03:23 PM) SEA. It was back when they were playing in China, they often queued over here at weird times.QUOTE(l4nc3k @ Jul 14 2014, 04:09 PM) i have 2.8k mmr, but i always end up in very high skill range (>3,8k average mmr) in normal queue. i had this shitty mmr (2.2k) after calibration because i started ranked too early Keep on climbing, you'll get there. You may get there faster on a smurf, but the final result will be about the same.QUOTE(AweFace @ Jul 14 2014, 04:55 PM) Don't bother. Most leagues are toxic, and you can learn very little from them compared to playing ranked matchmaking. The only time you'll benefit from league play is when you meet the few kind souls who are willing to take you under their wing and train you (and there are very few of such people).QUOTE(Blues89 @ Jul 14 2014, 06:13 PM) even with bkb,the march still goes through if not mistaken...only way is to silence and disable and hunt him down before he gets fat, same goes to naga... March is a special instance of magical damage that goes through BKB. Apart from not letting it hit you, there is no way to completely avoid the damage from it, you can only reduce it by bulking up your magic resistance.imo, actually quite balanced...but the march might need a bit of nerf :/ |

QUOTE(whoopa @ Jul 14 2014, 06:32 PM) Not really. Higher MMR = play against them. Lower = play with them. Just ask Kaizer96, he gets queued against pro players on a regular basis.Edit: Double posted due to tag limit. This post has been edited by v1n0d: Jul 14 2014, 07:30 PM |

I fear for the future of our country if there are some of us who can't even read an article and draw logical conclusions.
For the less enlightened: 1. DK have nothing to lose and everything to win by continuing to play. The prize pool distribution alone should motivate them to play on. 2. The video released by Gamefy is suspicious at best. There's no proof that it's not a ploy by DK to lure their opponents into a false sense of security. With 10 million at stake, no stone will be left unturned when it comes to the mind games. |

QUOTE(Kaizer96 @ Jul 18 2014, 02:07 AM) +48 mmr game. Internet in the Philippines is bad in general, so lag/delay would be understandable. For professional play though, delay is a common thing, most online tournaments have teams from various continents, so the average ping is about 150-200ms.When Pinoy play against Malaysian or Singaporean they are playing with severe ping disadvantages. Heinrich once told me, their average ping can reach as high as 200ms. Every single of them in that game i posted above have like 1 sec reaction delay. In LAN tournament they will rape us. Even Titan lost to them when they went there last time. As far as being anti-Pinoy goes, my beef with them is they're mostly too cocky (despite the majority of them being really bad) and hyper-nationalistic. There are good players out there, but they're lost in a sea of idiots. I have Pinoy mates that I play with on a regular basis, but on average it's hard to find one that's not a complete idiot. QUOTE(kurangak @ Jul 18 2014, 03:59 AM) kinda sarcastic, coz last time i got 180-220 ms still can play normally, no noticeable lag. my limit is when reach 300ms. You probably don't notice because your reaction time is slower. Then again, being accustomed to a high ping means you've automatically compensate for the lag/delay when you play. Back when Blue.server was active, everyone played with 1-2s delay yet games were still spot on. It's all about what you're used to.probably because im not a pro, dats why cant 'feel' the 0.2 sec lag... |

QUOTE(5p3ak @ Jul 19 2014, 08:34 AM) Dunno. Maybe not thinking straight. Very hard to stay calm when there's so much pressure to win. I remember some players saying that despite the booths being soundproofed, they can still hear muffled screams from the audience. |
