Waze and generally most GPS apps eats batteries. I never dream of using them if not pluck into a car charger. As for heat, yeah Waze heats the phone up much more compare to Google map anybody can tell why? Waze is nice to use with all the traffic report in real time, such a waste if not for the heat and battery issue.

Sorry, the Note 2 that my love one using is LAG as HELL!!! Running Samsung Stock KitKat 4.4.2, even the original Samsung Stock JellyBean 4.1.2 is way better. I just bought one Mi3 for her and sell the Note 2 while it still have value.

so be it... we still love our phones anyway.

Samsung phones lags mostly because they are not optimized properly, also they have a lot of their services running in the background which if the user is not using any of their services are total rubbish.

Rooting is good.
OC is also good, provided you understand and know how much your phone can take.

err...40 mins drive burn 30% and very hot?? My zenfone 5 can do better than that..
Waze on, gps on, data on, drive for 30mins, around 18~20% battery and feel the phone warm only..

Different processor.

Zenfone 5 using crappy Intel processor so run cooler.

Mi3 use ultra high performance snapdragon 800. Might run hotter. But its ok la.

IMO Benchmark only can be notice if you play game. If normal usage, imo not much different.

My friend have both device. Based on her feedback, since she is using custom rom for note 2, performance wise, not much different, excluding gaming part. But not all game rae

+1, my wife still using 4.1.2 <- very optimize rom vs kit kat 4.4.2 (offical rom)

Custom rom <-option all the way. Way better dr stock.
