I have listed 5 new cars that is considered as Underdogs in the Mysian car market. Where Mysians usually settle for Myvi, god car or camry, there are cars as listed here are crying at the showrooms.

So would u guys agree? Or any cars that should be included as well?

If TLDR:
I listed these 5 new cars as underdogs - Kia Picanto, VW Polo Sedan, Hyundai Veloster, Proton Inspira n Suzuki Kizashi

So before u put ur money into god car, myvi or camry, why not these? wink.gif

The inspira was infact an underrated car. PPl will fork to buy almari, city n god car. Actually the Suprima can be considered into the list but I believe the Inspira deserves more love wink.gif

True, I had a hard time thinking for the fifth car but come think of it, the CR-Z isn't that fast, so as the Mini Cooper. Unless if Mini Cooper S is into the pic la.

Actually I had a bigger headache when it comes into MPVs. The Alphard and Estima have gained too much attention but the Mazda Biante and 5 didnt get much sales.

Also on 4x4, u know Hilux, Ranger and Triton will score lots of sales. But somehow the Colorado does not. But i dont have the reviews of Colorado.

I also think Chervolet has the highest num of underdog cars when it comes to brands, but yet again some of their cars just not good enough, ie- sonic, cruze etc wink.gif

I thought of that too, but the Cruze is reaching end of life by next yr. It is an underrated car in some ways but the flaws overcome the positives. It's too underpowered and Naza aftersales isn't that great.

But any owners of Cruze who doesn't agree with me, feel free to add, as afterall, this is a free discussion. smile.gif

For those who can't brain why i put the Polo sedan, here why.

There is an event by Honda at Langkawi where the City was put against its competitors, the Polo Sedan, almari and god car. There a test where participants (members of the media) had to avoid two obstacles of boxes continuously without pulling the emergency brake.

Needless to say, the almari n god car phailed the test by crashing into the boxes and the City overcame it thanks to the VSA. But everyone was surprised when the Polo Sedan passed the test, despite it did not have any vehicle stability control systems.

That explains the Polo sedan's has a one hell of a good chassis.

Agree on Picanto and Inspira. The only thing about Picanto is it's freaking small. If it was a tad bigger (like the Mirage), then it should sell better.

The Kizashi sells at 160k plus initially. Now with discounts u can get less than 150k easily.

While driving home, guess what, saw a brown Kizashi on the road. That's rarely than see a Buggati Veyron here.

Tumpang tanya.

Which car has good FC for city drive?

I saw owner review said polo sedan could go as far as 13km/l but at 86k, with no stop start, no stability control, and pretty much basic

Honda jazz 1.3 hybrid 16-17km/l but downside is quite expensive for hatchback and sometimes aircond off to save fuel sweat.gif

God car 13km/l but standard gearbox and engine and no vsc

Fiesta drool.gif 14km/l but so small and said to be suck if always stuck in traffic

My driving style is i never racing pun, average 80-100 in normal road and highway 120-130 only. I always got outfield work so i travel a lot in city. Sometimes outstation also.
Basically for a day i will on off engine more than 6 times.

Budget below 100k. Can advice o not sifus?
Eh plus now cannot make 9 yr loan right?

Edit: my current car is kenari. If really dont have fuel full tnak around 70. And only take me around 300km only sad.gif
My milage so suck

Your reply show how shallow ur thought are.

The GB is from Aishin Toyota FYI

As for the chassis, it is extremely important in handling , ride comfort and safety.

You didn't ask where this polo came from

yup it's India model, white doesn't mean always good wan.

QUOTE
Earlier this week, we showed you pics of a Volkswagen Polo hatchback being tested by JPJ. Snapped by our regular Putrajaya spy Anol Alias, the white hatch has many differences compared to the Polo TSI currently on sale in Malaysia. We detailed the visible changes and speculated that the car in question was a locally-assembled CKD unit from Pekan.

We now have confirmation that the Polo hatchback is indeed being locally-assembled in Pekan, where VW also puts together the Passat and Polo Sedan. Our friends at Indian Autos Blog (thanks Shrawan!) got the word from Volkswagen India, which said that CKD kit shipments from Chakan, India to Malaysia started in July this year, and that assembly at the DRB-Hicom facility started in September.

At yesterday’s official launch of the 2014 VW Polo Sedan, Volkswagen Group Malaysia’s MD Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer, in response to a question on the CKD Polo hatch, replied that there would be news on this in the coming weeks.

So this is how you conclude the car quality? Base on the country manufactured rather than the design and engineering effort. It seems to me that you are saying these plant set up in India does not have training and QC at all?
I have personally visited the plant and I understand that continental brand tends to placed less importance to gadget but they do focus on building the right foundation of the car.
Yes we are very disappointed that they had omitted the Traction control and the paint job done in Pekan is not up to standard but the quality of the chassis and the reliability of these
proven engine and GB pairing cant be overlook. You should also take a look at how the Polo Sedan is insulated compared with cars in similar segment.

Absolutely , if not we'll all be buying Malaysian and Chinese cars but we don't

Yes I absolutely believe the same standards applied in an European factory cannot be replicated in a country like India or Malaysia

You yourself are saying even the paint job is not up to standard, the gearbox and engine have been replaced with old tech used in another third world because the dsg is of poor quality despite being made in europe

Ckd means the chassis are welded here also Malaysian standard , a ckd is meant to bring the cost down why omit certain safety equipment then Malaysians don't deserve it ? Because it's not required by law so screw those Damn Asians they'll buy anything that's made in white man land

While other western countries get voluntary recalls let the Malaysians protest before we do anything , and even then they'll still buy our products it's amazing their worship of us

stop believing stuff from "i heard", normal service is only <RM300, and every 2/3 years only one major service which is also <RM1k

and it's RM90 for 454km, which is consider for a 1.6 European car

Ditto for the Picanto and Inspira, but the other 3 aren't underrated. Just not really there in the segment it is at.
What does the Kizashi, for example, bring to the table that it's rivals do not?

I'd throw a Ford model in there, good car plagued by dealership issues.

Not undervalue but the matter of higher pricing or limited parts. Try to find spare parts of the Kizashi, apart from Suzuki dealers.

The Kizashi is admittedly flawed compared to established rivals like the Camry and Accord when it comes to refinement, space, resale value and perception. But what Kizashi aced as I mention, is ride and handling, and of cause, exclusively.

I do admit the current Ford lineup in Mysia is getting better but yes, their aftersales is an afterthought.

Proton inspira is the most underrated car la, all those ppl dumb dumb tot inspira inside using campro engine n got proton brand then say its a shitty laoya car

They duno dat getting an inspira is like getting honda civic quality car for the price of vios, not a honda civic segment car but wif proton quality ( preve)

Its stil the best car below 100k today

In fact the Inspira has better sales figures compared to the other four. The Kizashi is perhaps the worst.

my 508 service menu

every 10k service or 6 months = close to 500 (total full synthetic engine oil) <if pakai petronas 1 will cheaper around 60 kot

60k service is kinda pain and 60k = close to 2k

tyre 235/45 R18 ..stock tyre close to 1k per biji

now found falken 1 ..rm450 1 biji

of course it's not really fuel economics .. 1.6L + turbo FC

try to compare with other 2L or 2.4L NA FC

here is the service menu for 408
