You must be from the old batch and out of warranty.  If so,  you have to root it and try to downgrade the rom via Mobile Odin. 4.2.2 still doesn't have the knox bootloader so you should be able to downgrade the rom.
*
No such thing Note II hvae 4.2.2 lol. Only 4.3.

Yup, I heard before 4.3 got some battery drain issue, how bout just go taste the flavour of KitKat. Actually nothing major though after the update, just performance and battery life balanced. Other doesn't have major changes.

LCD cracked when charging? Did someone sit or step on it?

You could run it via MHL and use the vol up and down buttons for control. At least I think it should work that way tongue.gif
*
Yeah lol, GN2 doesn't heat up that much while charging. So it's impossible for the screen to crack due to charging. I wonder how did the screen crack hmm.gif

Dear fellow sifus, need some help here...

I just updated my wife SGN2 via OTA, the file size was about 79xmb... And I thought it is suppose to be 4.4.2 kk.

But turn out it was JB 4.3...

But the worst is the Status become "Custom" after the OTA update, and now I can't receive any OTA updates anymore due to the status has been changed.

I checked in Odin mode, Knox still remain at 0. Check root access with Root Checker, "not rooted"...

So, can I download the 4.4.2 KK MY rom from sammobile.com and the flash it using Odin 3.0.9? Will the status become "Official" again?

I feel annoyed since I updated via OTA, how was it possible that the Status changed to Custom?

So fellow sifus, pls enlighten me....
*
Yes you can and it won't trigger Knox. Anyway does ur SGN2 still in warranty?

Yes, it is still in warranty period...

For that issue, I ady found the solution from uncle google...

BTW, is there anyone here successfully ROOTED with towelroot without tripping the knox?

Or is there any other way to root the SGN2 with KK 4.4.2 without tripping the Knox flag beside towel root?
*
Towelroot useless for me lol, I tried 2 versions. It says it supports phone before 3rd June 2014, but nothing happends on my S3 Mini... Nor rooted.

So which method u use? Did it tripped the knox flag?
*
Just got 1 button Make it Rain. Press and rebooted nothing happens, installing SuperSU said no binary installed.

It's a S3 Mini Android 4.1.2 stock so it is not using Knox enabled bootloader.

By the way my SGN2 is rooted with CF-Root so Knox warranty voided.

If I'm not mistaken. Towel root is to root KitKat device.

From towelroot.cm:
QUOTE
should support all phones < jun 3 2014

Regardless of the Android version, it injects an exploit I think.

Sigh, still no luck to root my SGN2 with towelroot regardless of v1,v2 or v3...

A bit regretted cause KK restricted external sd card usage. What kind of policy is this whereby we can't even store files in the external memory card??? Then whats the point of having it in the 1st place???
*
The stock ROM do have SD card R/W restriction issue. You need to root it and modify the platform.xml. Playstore have the fix but it needs to be rooted...

Anyway this implements because Google devices doesn't have external SD card slot. tongue.gif

Either root it with CF-Root but will trip Knox or else just stick with the SD card for decoration purpose. LoL

Root it with CF-Root. Confirmed working. Use the ODIN provided with CF-Root too. Towelroot depends on luck I guess, some reported can root some cannot.

The Note 2 usb port is on a small daughterboard. Should be easy to replace. I asked about a replacement port for the S3, was quoted RM80 for a resolder. It might be cheaper for the Note 2.

This is the culprit... The Mines got sell? Because I live near Serdang area, not convenient go to Lowyat.

Did you remove that yourself?

Mines I don't know. You need places with phone repair statiosn or parts. LYP is likely your best bet.
*
Yea, because they said this is the common problem. I prefer replace myself, just buy the part, later scare the shop steal something from my phone. LoL

Hi there. Where can i get a casing replacement for note 2 ?
*
I saw at the wholesale shop. It costs RM180. (Chrome part with middle casing + back cover)

And by the way my Note II after diagnostics, unable connect to PC isn't cause by faulty USB module / Flex cable, it's probably cause by something in the motherboard or IC fried, thus unable to connect. So I m selling my Note II and get another phone. Probably getting 1 + 1.

It was a great phone till it failure, and my pocket dry already leh. No money now and the phone still rosak. cry.gif

I m letting it go for RM700. Everything working well just unable to connect to PC only (via MTP or PTP). ODIN, charging and USB OTG still works though. smile.gif
