Just that everyone is in the mood to share stories...

As of raya this year, I'll be smoke free for 2 years running, thanks to these wonderful little electronic gadgets. This coming from a guy who did 1PAD and tried to stop so many times unsuccessfully.

Like many others back in the day, I started out with an (overpriced) LavaTube Mini and Vivi combo - which still (kinda) works. Overpriced or not, it helped me quit cold.

That said, I just love tiny mods with minimum fuss. My daily driver now is a old beat-up 18350 Chi and Nano Taifun - though I'm still always watching the horizon for something even smaller and easier to use.

As for vaping = saving... I'll have to warn you though. The moment vaping takes hold as an "actual" hobby, you might not be able to "save" much if at all. So much mods to buy and juices to try.

Anyway, good 12MG juices are hard to come by these days it seems. I still miss the day when I could just order crapload of artisan juices from overseas and nobody at Kastam would even bat an eye to my shipments.

I stopped importing when the hoohaa began last year. I wonder if it's any safer nowadays. I really miss stuff from Mt Baker (Hawk Sauce) and Plume Room (Summer Peach) right about now.

Anybody have good 12MG juices to suggest? Nothing with custard in it please - I can do creamy but not custard.

no you wont, you will have 3-4 mods, maybe an mvp, half dozen or more attys and so much juice , then you will have drip and lose track of juice and end up vaping 10ml in a single session ... then you probably buy a new mod every 2-3 months because you dunno what to spend your extra money on tongue.gif
*
Well, if you let the retailmania overtake you, of course. Especially if you're chasing clouds - there will always be something better and faster. Bleeding edge will always cost you, no matter it be with gadgets, cameras or vaping gear.

Personally, vaping for me has always been first and foremost NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy), so it's always less on top edge performance and more on day-in-day-out reliability and consistency: The easiest to use mod with the least fuss for the least money spent.

I mean, this thing is supposed to just replace my ciggy, right?

Hence, I've been able to more or less keep the retail demons at bay so far in these past 2 years. BUT to be honest, it's not easy. There's always something shiny just waiting to catch your eye.

Especially now that I've gone back to my old Chi from vaping the Vmod exclusively for half of last year (THE smallest mod with the least fuss - shame the parts and consumables were so expensive locally), thanks to the Taifun actually which I just got recently.

Darnit. So... many... parts... to... try... Sometimes I miss the good ol' Vivinova days lol. Things were so much simpler then - though the vapin' is so much better now it's scary.

@blinky: That juice seems interesting. Shame they don't have it in 12MG. I'm checking out Suicide Rabbit next. Or maybe Badass. Or Steep Stoner.

If all else fails... time to dirty my hands and DIY ler.

If you want it in 12mg, head to Vapebrothers in Aman Suria. I bought my 12mg Diablo Blanco from them. Cheers!

Thanks. Highly appreciated. Plus they have Pure Mich in stock for 12... yum!

EDIT: Ayam liking the juice selection over at VB - most of them in 12 no less. Must drop over one of these days.

Lol really? Just my luck then the shops I have around my area don't really carry a lot of 12MG stock - even less imports.

Aiming to try some lf the PSV stuff later. Have been hankering for them for years lol.

There is even 20 & 22 AWG.

Before you go sub-ohm understand the safety aspects of it first. The lower the resistance the more current it needs, each battery has an amp limit that you should never exceed. Also the lower the wire gauge, the less resistance it provides. Conclusion = dont use shit tier batteries when you vape.

Eg. 8 wraps of 26AWG coil will be ~0.8ohms, while 8 wraps of 28AWG coil will be ~1.2ohms.

Bastem = 24AWG & 27AWG are available
Alienwire = From 26 to 32 AWG

I personally prefer the 26 (Alienwire) and 27 (Bastem). But when it comes to longevity and quality, Temco wires wins hands down, i only tried their 28AWG before, looking for 26 & 27 now.
*
Simpler conclusion: Awan Nano = Increased risk of boom boom.

Hence I don't even bother. Plus the fact that a full Awan Nano setup drinks juice like only god knows... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

but if you understand the risk and take the necessary steps, its totally worth it, i just simply get no kick in using RBAs, i like them clouds.

and yes, downside is, you need to scam yourself many times over lel. laugh.gif
*
Well, I DO like clouds myself... but I like battery life and sane juice consumption too.

That said, I'm already kinda self scamming now with my Taifun and cotton wicks vs my old Vmod setup - I used to finish one 10ml bottle in 1.5-2 weeks, now I go through my juice stocks 100% faster lol.

Oh well. At least replacing cotton wicks weekly and rolling microcoils is a whole lot more cost effective vs buying them overpriced vmod atomiser carts - which only really lasts 2-3 weeks each if you get lucky and get one that works 100% out of the box. Sure, you can boil them and stuff, but they don't really last that long in the end anyway.

Unfortunately, I DO have to buy more juice now. Oh well.

Still, sometimes I miss my tiny old midget smoke machine. Convenience-wise the Vmod is really hard to beat for it's diminutive size.

Any e-cig kit intro? Is fantasia good?
*
IMHO...

If you're just starting out and just curious about vaping, get an Ego-C Twist + CE4/5 or an iTaste VV ver. 4 + iClear16. Complete starter kits for both should run well around RM100 or so each, and should contain everything you need to start with (minus the juice, of course).

Heck, a normal (non-Twist) Ego + CE4 combo should go for less then RM50 and is really "good enough", at least to try out vaping with.

Vape on that out for a month or so, if you're still interested - and by which time you should already be better versed with the world of ohms and juices - THEN you check out the other options available.

That's what I think anyway.

Thanks a lot for your opinion. I think i'l get Ego-C Twist + CE4/5. Do you know where can i get it? It seems stylish and quite cool. Hope the vape is decent and the taste is nice too. Does the taste depend very much on the quality of the juice??
*
My normal places are out of stock. Fortunately, a quick trip to Lelong.com.my (search for eEgo twist) should bring up a few hits. Also hit the Facebook vape vendors.

Taste is actually juice + tank/atomizer. Good juice on in a crappy tank will taste bad and the reverse is also true.

Alternatively, try out the Smoktech Winder from http://bit.ly/1mzRc0p . It's a bit on the more expensive side for what's a Ego Twist lookalike but the Protank is a bit better compared to the basic CE4/5.

egos are pretty shitty. Want a good tank comparable to high end devices?

Get a normal Mod (<RM80) + Aspire Nautilus, no regrets. I dare say its comparable to my ori kayfun lite+ v2.
*
Or that. Like I said before, if he's sure he's in it for the long run then mech mods are fine too - though I have no experience with the Nautie so I can't say much about that.

But what egos and other basic mods are good for is to start with, especially the VV ones like the Twist, Spinners and Winders. They're small with VV, sealed built in batteries and USB passthroughs - for one thing it's relatively hassle free, which is a boon for new vapers.

To be fair, if you plan to go full vape you'll pretty much hit the limits of the Ego-types within months so yeah, what you said has its merits as well.

It all depends on the person in question then. Go to a good vape shop, try stuff out, and go with what you feel is best.

crooked problem? mind to explain? i dont think i've had any such problem.

Malaysian juices are kinda generic a.k.a boring. Even some pinoy juices are on par with US/UK made. We're lagging behind. I've tried more than 100+ malaysian made juices, ALL tasted generic, and out of this, i kinda enjoyed only 1, sadly.
*
In the past 2 weeks, I have been checking out all sorts of juice from local and abroad... Turns out I'm possibly growing pretty old and "overly-complex" juices all just confuse my tongue now. Plus the fact that creamy stuff (even if not custard-ly) make me nauseous.

So now, back to my trusty Generic Ribina, Bancho Sour Fuse, Mister E Michigan (anybody got stock?) and TV RaspCoughDrop lol... at least until the next brilliant "simple" flavour comes along.

Still hankering for some Plume Room Summer Peach though, maybe I should risk ordering a couple of bottles. Any idea what my chances are of a small 4x 30ml shipment getting pass Kastam?

when it come to juice, it is depends on personal peference.. macam ak, ak tak suke yg straight forward taste.. ak suke inhale and exhale taste die different.. tak bnyak gunk and rase maintain even simpan dah lame dalam bottle

so my feveret local juice mcm firefox, hanuman, Pink!, A&J, sweet rave, OB, and Pop
*
Quite interested in Pink... If only it came in 12mg.

As for Pop (the original and it's many, many merry clones) IMO it's okay but for all intents and purposes I got bored of it after a few months.

But yeah. Taste is highly subjective. Especially when you consider differences in: 1) Personal Taste 2) Mod Setup 3) Tank setup.

Still think a KF has the best taste of the tanks that I know, with the Taifun following behind it. A shame the TF is so much easier to fiddle with and fill up.

Hmm, checking out Blaxsol cotton wicks soon cause can't be bothered to boil + dry my own cotton and the "cottonburn" taste is driving me mad with my more delicate flavors.

http://bit.ly/Uar9ks

Not exactly as cheap as supermarket cotton, but I'm expecting it to solve the taste issue - if I could somehow thread it into my microcoils. Expect a short impression up after Friday.

Nobody dare try Rayon wicks yet? Wicks like cotton while being totally dry burn able.

For me, gonna try Blaxsol/Bastem as soon as I go back KL.

And as for vaping in Thailand, was there with my Vmod and nobody really gave me a second glance... even the customs guys.

Of course I put it in the toiletries/liquid bag... otherwise no issues. That said the Vmod is relatively inconspicuous compared to our normal bompaips so that might have been why.

while travelling i dont bring tube mods or vv mods.
i usually bring the ego pv with mini nini nova or ce5.
i get them from elleong or jalan pasar abt 8 bucks per tank.
pakai buang after the trip, malas recoil balik the tanks.

i brought it to Thailand twice, didnt even put in toiletries bag, just chuck in my bacpack's front pocket. no, issues. didnt know its banned in Thailand, they were opan selling both pv and juices in stalls and in shopping malls, but mahal mak bapak. ego+ce5+charger 1500 bahts!

anyways, how about vietnam? can i bring/vape in HCMC
*
Not sure about the official ruling, but I brought and vaped openly in HCMC a couple of times already without any issues - again with the tiny Vmod. An ego vinova should be fine.

Haven't tried going abroad with my ChiBomPaip yet though. I wonder how that's gonna turn out.

I could probably split these cotton in a box into a few packs, and I have 3 boxes biggrin.gif

How's about I "help" take one of those boxes off your hands lol.

Also, seems that Muji DOES carry unbleached cotton pads locally. Unfortunately, they only have stores in MV and Pavi... Plus no idea if they're organic either - if that even matters.

That said, does it have that weird initial taste when vaping? Or does it work just like bastem/blaxsol (ie. clean taste from the first vape).

A lot of people online found that the best cotton is made by Koh Gen Do, sold in Sephora (not in Msia unfortunately). But the (repacked?) cotton by Chad-san is just as good, if not better.

get it from him (i get no money from promoting tongue.gif ) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=102...&type=1&theater
*
Heard about the Sephora cotton thing too, supposedly the best (for facial use). How much are the repacked cotton per pack?

As for me, will be heading out to Muji MV to check out their cotton... if I could muster the energy to even bother. Or, I'll try Guardian for some sterilised stuff. There's also that 3 meters of Bastem I just bought too see if it's any better than my koman capayam cotton pads

Also, FINALLY got my hands on a frosted tank and metal topcap for my nanotaipun... Should hold off the "geram-nak-beli-stuff" feeling for a little bit.

duke_hunt That brings back memories. Di suatu zaman dahulu used to lepak with the guys who made that almost every weekend. Their guava juice is good too BTW.

So... masa untuk report nubis kubis on kapas.

I ended up checking out Muji MV anyway, and they had mountains of unbleached cotton for sale lol.

user posted image

Less than RM10 for a huge pack. Sure that's considerably more expensive th|an your average Guardian bleached cotton, but this is unbleached stuff. At least it's cheaper than the other options (Chaddo and Body Shop = RM25 for even less cotton).

Not sure about sterilised cotton. I'll check up on that later, but I assumed it's bleached anyway before sterilisation so there's still still a chance of it having more chemicals vs unbleached (assuming it's not chemically ssterilised in the first place). Plus, sterilisation is to kill germs, not remove chemicals.

user posted image

Normal bleached capayam cotton (not even Guardian, but the best I have before this - more on that later) vs Muji Unbleached. Note the seeds and different colour of the Muji. The Muji is also considerably thicker plus the fibres are also of longer strands and are slightly looser.

More importantly, how does it vape? More or less, my findings are like the ones from C-Fu a few pages back.

With the Muji, the initial cotton taste is STILL there on my Taipun - but it is MUCH less "chemical-ly". Not sure if that's just a placebo effect, but for me there's definitely less of the "cottoncrap" feeling - especially compared to the Guardian cotton, which I suspect has perfume or preservatives or whatnot in it because it's the most chemical tasting of the lot.

Secondly, not sure if I'm imagining things, but it feels like it's far more efficient at wicking. Somehow. Maybe it's the looser, longer fibre strands.

Anyway, I need to test more but so far I like what I'm getting. Haven't tried the Bastem yet, maybe later.
