any feedback on time fiber broadband? I am planning for a switch.
just that not sure the reliability...

First time broadband user in Malaysia here. I'm using TIME's 100Mbps package and I kid you not, so far it is awesome. Understandably enough, I only got like 60-70 Mbps at a time, but for only RM179/month, I'd say it's still the bang for the buck. I actually forgot to pay July's bill and they didn't cut the connection cold past the due date. Of course I've paid my dues already together with August's bill. tongue.gif

I somehow feel that TIME Fibre is getting slower by day... I am on a 10mb plan with Astro and when I do speedtest, Ping is 35ms, DL is 2.35mb while UL is 5mb. Bear in mind that this is when I boost it to 20mb. Apa dah jadi ni....
*
Where's your location? I usually get 50-60 Mbps DL/UL rate. It is slower than what I used to have (70s Mbps), but last time I tested it, I was on YouTube and downloading some Korean shows. I use cable connection btw. nod.gif

I dont have cable long enough for this. I will try to do speedtest BUT wifi lar, tonight and see how it goes.
Your line is 100mb? If not, how to get 50-60mbps. I jealous lar. My location at Tmn Tun
*
Yeah, I got the 100Mbps (100GB quota) plan. Though it never goes close to even 80Mbps, it still does me good. Btw, I would suggest you borrow some cable to really know your TIME's potential. Before connecting to a cable, it was only like 30-40Mbps for me. hmm.gif

I'm currently a customer of TIME's 100Mbps plan (with the 100GB quota). If I plan to move out to another apartment building, can I simply continue the plan or do I have to cancel my subscription altogether and start a new one in my new apartment building? hmm.gif

Hi Yeap! That was nice of you to actually call me regarding my inquiries. It's still a plan so I might move out or not, depending on future conditions. Again, thanks for the call, Yeap. I really appreciate it. thumbup.gif

Strange thing is happening with my TIME 100Mbps subscription. Using speedtest.net, it shows that my speed is as usual (around 40-ish Mbps), but when I download from a filehosting website, I can't go beyond 200 kBps. Last month, I still get around 0.8-1.2 MBps. Any idea why? hmm.gif

Hi Bro,

Try to test it out again using some localized servers, eg. MS.

Filehosting sites are not consistent sometimes. Another reason could be due to single session control implemented by the FileHosting Servers.

Thanks.

P/S : 40Mbps / 100Mbps package is kinda slow...are you using Linksys E1200 Router ?
*
Yeah, my router is Linksys E1200. Any known issues on this router? hmm.gif

Hi Bro, You can hard reset the Router, but before that make sure you have your Time Account Username & Password on hand.

Later you need that to configure back the connection.

Thanks.
*
I'm not familiar with routers. How can I do the hard reset and re-configure the connection? Any documentation on it? unsure.gif

-EDIT-
Hi Mod. Can you delete this post? I replied the wrong post. blush.gif

Hi Bro,

The E1200 is not capable of supporting up to 100Mbps...you gotta change the Router if you wanna get higher spped, but before that, do a test first. PM me if you need further help.

Cheers smile.gif
*
What? Now that's funny. Why did TIME actually give me a router that's not capable of supporting MY choice of plan? Honestly, now I feel like I was duped all this time. shocking.gif

Actually the router provided is full of problems. Just google and u will find many complaints
For my company, the router is nothing but trouble.. It will automatically disconnect from internet for about 1/2 minutes randomly (but router remain on, just no internet). It happened everyday for us....

Finally I changed the router to a spare TP Link and never face disconnect problem again

Hmm. I'll take note on that. Any suggestion on router for replacement? hmm.gif

Hi Bro,

Mostly all Routers in the market will work fine...the question is to choose a good stable one...else why go for replacement...feel free buzz me your budget...we'll recommend you a few.

Thanks.
*
Routers aside, I still think it's strange that before CNY my download speed could go beyond 1 MBps from filehosting websites and now it's barely go over 200 kBps. Any explanation on this? hmm.gif

Just want to drop by and say that the download rate from the filehosting websites is now back to normal. For whatever reason, thanks TIME. tongue.gif

TIME's limiting download rate from filehosting websites? Downloading 2 files from different websites and the download rates aren't even going beyond 10 KBps. And I'm subscribing to the 100Mbps plan with lots of quota left. shakehead.gif

Hi Bro,

I don't think there is any throttling going on... firstly gotta make sure Google DNS is used...

Bro, which Filehosting site you are having problems?

Thanks.
*
Having trouble on R*pidgat*r and Extmatr*x. I'm using Google DNS already. hmm.gif

Hi Bro,

Are you using any premium account? I remember we did have several super slow connection feedbacks for these 2 sites for other ISP as well....

Can let me test the files that you are experiencing slow connection?

Thanks.
*
Yes, I have premium account. Check your inbox for the link please. smile.gif

So I found out yesterday that the upload/download rate is back to normal. Anyone else is still facing the slow download speed for the 100Mbps package? hmm.gif

Thanks for your interested in TIME,

but sorry to tell u that TIME is not available at Permas Ville Apartment and Soho Suites.

Kindly check your pm for further detail.

Thanks

Dangit. I'm thinking of moving to Soho Suites this August, but if TIME's not available there already, I'm a bit hesitant. ohmy.gif

Dear bro

Which area you prefer , i will try to check coverage for you .

Thanks

I'm planning to move out from Park View Service Apt, initially. I want to find a new apartment in KLCC area. I simply prefer TIME over the other providers because I'm really satisfied with the 100Mbps Fibre plan. hmm.gif
