hi all,

Can share with us the 8Mb/15Mb/30Mb/50Mb and 100Mb speed with us?

I am still thinking of what package to sign up with. Are there any free 1 month promotion? Heard some ppl told this deal is on till 31st march?

based on some torrent speed share here, I saw the speed is around 900K only, below 1Mbytes speed sad.gif ? Even my old streamyx can get xunlei dl rate of 1MBytes per second.

Anyone sign up the monthly rm10 free 2000 minutes call? From the printout, it only stated free 2000 minute in 1 year.

How abt 2nd year onwards? this 2000 minute will reset annually? or only 1 time deal?

If 1 time deal, what for I pay extra 10 for year 2 onwards?

Hi Bro,

In fact they have increased the throttled speed from 1Mbps to 10Mbps, once the 100GB quota is reached.

Cheers smile.gif

I did some math on the 100Mbit with 100GB capped and normal unlimited line comparison:

100Mbit speed:(Ex, to run 100Mbps in 1 hour, total data that we get upon conversion to hour)

3600 (second in 1 hour) x 12.5 (MByte, 100Mbps converted to MB) = 45GByte (per hour)

Hence, by 2 hours, the quota will hit 90GByte! and the speed will fall back to 10Mbps, and none 50 hours boost...
Syok sendiri for 2 hours every month only smile.gif

For 8/10/15/20/30 Mbps speed:

Just calculate the speed boost for 30 hours... without counting in the package that you take

3600 (second in 1 hour) x 30 hours x 6.25 (50Mbps convert to MB) = 675GByte (in 1 month!)

Hence, just calculate the speed boost, we are getting 675GByte monthly. Just the boost alone is already worth the $.

In summary, I think TIME should revise the 100Mbps to make it more attractive. For example, the quota should revise to 1TeraByte, for sure this can attract more 100mbps subscribers....Don't forget that with 1TBytes capped, 100mbps user will easily fill up their quota in around 30 hours. This is something on par with other package as 30hours speed boost...

Only Time change this quota limit to 1Tera byte in 100mbps package... I will/might considering to switch over smile.gif

Hi guys,
me again... after sharing the theory part of the time package...now lets talk abt tech talk... speed in LAN and WIFI wifi speed.

By selecting router HW, TIME does factor in some specifications

For 100Mbps package, I don't have the modem throughput data, hence better leave it blank here:

For other package, they chose E1200:
The WAN to LAN throughput around: 94Mbps, hence pass
The LAN to WAN throughput around: 94Mbps, hence pass
2.4 downlink throughput: 48+Mbps, hence pass
2.4 uplink throughput: 37+Mbps, hence fail
2.4 Combine up and down 100+Mbps, hence pass

In summary, for the safe site, better use WIRE instead of WIFI to get the full potential of time speed. You can do some homework on WIFI throughput speed if you plan to change your router...

I am waiting for my installation. Thus far I have some feedback on VPN connection issue.

Some claim that after log in VPN, the speed lagged

reboost another hour, manage to get xunlei dl in 2.5MB and torrent dl in 2.5MB. Max out around total of 5.2MB total dl. 5.2MB times 8 = 41.6mbps.

Later(maybe next time) i will try wireless AC router...

manage to connect to my own AC router....

Last speed test via time speed test:

DL: 14.80+ it drop to 13.6+
UL: 15.10+ and stay here

Anyone can share their 8Mbit/10Mbit/15Mbit/20Mbit speed and 50Mbits boost speed?

Wonder can we get solid DL speed? Or only i having the not consistence DL speed and boost speed?

I am on tech discussion and no one answering me on that tongue.gif

Time should give their user better router la...

For 100Mbps package should at least give 1750 ac router
and for normal package should at least give 1200 ac router

you all can check the throughput on every wireless router speed:

I agreed with you . We need your feedback to Time customer service
*
Sales team and HW/SW technical support team should give feedback. biggrin.gif

For sure customer will ask, why I cant get 50mbps? 100mbps?

Customer support also lazy/hard to answer: Please change to WIRE, or pls change router or this is due to fair policy usage tongue.gif

Latest finding:

VPN:
Try to connect to company VPN, connected to several geo location VPN... It is working, I think the 1st day upon account activation not stable and thus will have some glitch on 1st day???

Tried >10 China Stream TV apps (android TV box):
80% of the china site watchable with finest setting using default time DNS. But some cannot watch such as PPTV. Will try out google DNS later and hope to get 100% coverage. Online streaming is much better than Streamyx

Using own AC router (via wireless):
Default router can get to 40-43Mbps when boost (As some benchmark review stated that this router can go max on 48mbps). Using my AC router push this limit up to 50mbps ( My router support up to >200 mbps based on some review benchmark).

Yeapch01, can you send me setup manual too? I want to refer IPV6 setting smile.gif and to check out any setting that I might miss out?

In summary, 8Mb time line can get us at least 2 HD streaming and 15Mb can get us at least 4 HD streaming... smile.gif

Thanks for the advice. Tried the username and password provided but not working. Will try to call them to confirm the username and password again.

That is my point here... Why can't we change the password? What if the technical ppl wrote not accurate on the invoice paper?

Notice that for 15mbps line, the line will not reach that for upload/download.... It will only get around average DL:14.5mbps and UL:13++mbps.

Streamyx for their package also have a -10% bandwidth 3 years ago due to best effort. BUt these 3 years, they have capped their line with higher value to give customer the accurate subscribe speed.

Ex: for 8Mbps line in Streamyx, they will capped your account in 10Mbps, hence after the -10%/20% best effort. you will still get your 8Mbit line as claimed.

I hope time will follow that too. For example, with existing rate:
6/8/10/15/20/30/50/100 mbps hope they capped at this 7.2/10/12/18.5/24/36/60/120 mbps to cater for 20% package loss via connection. If cannot make a 20%, at least add a 10% will be good for fiber.

so 8mbps and 15mbps how much per month? i still thinking which to get
*
I think based on usage... if you have 3 ppl streaming on HD movie, go for 15Mbps if you have 2 below to stream for HD, go to 8mbps...

If you are heavy downloader, I think 30 hours boost should be sufficient for both these package. 30 hours boost @ 6MBytes will give you a total of 648GByte in a month! ( you might need to add 1T HDD space every month for this tongue.gif)
