I am not so concerned about the download speed of the FTP, it's the NETFLIX which is my main bread&butter which is jalating. Used to stream NETFLIX to TWO devices at same time also no problem last time. sad.gif

Anyway, my router model:

It is same model no as above, but mine is the older model 2 years ago...but it is same model no as this above.

It's this picture below:

Hi all Sifu, im new to TIME fibre. just installed today. but the download speed very inconsistent. wifi get sometime 3mb only, sometime 5mb very little get 10mb.
btw i get huawei HG8240 terminal and router ZTE ZXHN H298N, it seem like got the same prob like linksys one. anyone facing the same problem as me?

Im previously UNIFI VIP5 user. just terminate today also. for me the speed of unifi much stable compare to TIME. will monitoring for few days.
*
I am getting inconsistent speed too on the 1st day.... Suspect that i am using the default free router or it might be the 1st day account glitch... Try wait 2nd day, if it does not help, try to change to other router rclxms.gif

Yes exactly
I already replaced the router to TP Link

I don't need your help to test. I download  about 1tb every month
Can't get max speed after boost even after running >16 http/ftp parallel downloads  doh.gif
TIME peering so sux. Even worse than Maxshit
*
I also use ftp while on steamyx time, and fed up with the ftp rules (need to pay only can get fast dl, and most of them will gone after few months of service), try switch to BT dl instead (and not xunlei)... For sure you can get full speed in BT.

Talking abt ftp... i am 1/2 way setting up FTP to my DIY NAS, found out that need to apply cert la, need to join ddns la and need to do lots of thing like fort forward plenty of posts!! End up, y should i setup ftp as i am not sharing anything to public...Anoher option to replace own FTP is setup owncloud to DIY NAS.

Thanks for helping to test bro

I think your results confirm that TIME have weak peering compared to TM. But I'm curious why the speeds with TIME default DNS and Google DNS does not differ a lot cuz from practical usage, I'm getting huge speed difference between the two. Using TIME default DNS can download at high speed but not with Google DNS
Bro, yes and no with your situation

Suggestions to improve your download speed:
First, if u using TIME provided Cisco router, change to any other cheapo chapalang router also better than that crap router
Secondly, if u have set Google DNS at your router settings, change it to the default TIME DNS to get fast download speed. I notice a very big speed difference when reset to use back TIME default DNS

I agree about Unifi download speed is better if download from filehosting sites, through http/ftp. Basically even Smartftp manage to almost max out my Unifi 20mbps bandwidth with one single download. But TIME it is not possible, need at least 2/3 parallel downloads to max out the bandwidth and it is impossible to downright hopeless slow when downloading with Smartftp

But I disagree about TIME torrenting speeds because I manage to max out the bandwidth anytime with torrents from private trackers, no matter with Google DNS or with TIME default DNS. I shared my experience previously here:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=74811913

Try my solution to fall back to TIME DNS, it made a big difference for me
Bro, it is due to TIME peering is weak compared with TM..
I guess u pay for what u get....
If u facing intermittent disconnection problem, it is due to TIME provided crap Cisco router
Change to use any cheapo chapalang brand router and your problem will be solved. Perhaps not everyone know how to replace router, and perhaps there are some conflict of interest with a few forumer as they did not want this to be blown out of proportion
*
You might be right on weak ddns on time... if use google, the speed will be slow as it need to go to google server and route back to us...

Time DNS sucks...hmmm... this might be true as they might have lots of filtering / less powerful dns server....

Time, please upgrade your DNS server!!!!

Any rebate from time? Maybe time should post the reason on the downtime in their website...

I have the slow streaming yesterday, the day before is ok.

Yesterday was like when streaming live TV, it go to 400kbps and it drop to 40kbps...I cannot watch stream tv at all. Switch to other channel source also same.

The day before is around >1Mbps, the lack only kick in around 10pm+... but that is acceptable cause it only lag for 10 sec and resume back to normal.
