Singapore gonna end analog transmissions in 5 years. When will we received HD channel throughout the country.

All ASEAN countries will have to turn off the analogue transmission by 2020.

why Current Astro subscribers need not to purchase another set-top box? the channels will be on astro also?

I don't have astro. I use the vhf and UHF antenna with boster can get singapore channel 5 in HD 1080i.

I guess those RTM and Media Prime digital channels will be available on Astro too. Singapore pay-tv subscribers don't need to buy an extra set-top box too.

I think its not the same coz during thunderstorm I still can watch the singapore channel.

as far as i know RTM has been broadcasting DVB for quite some time now but only in klang valley and on trial basis. I bought a LCD tv monitor from Singapore about 4.5 years ago which has digital tuner and can receive RTM DVB broadcast. But RTM being so useless and boring, I hardly tune in and I don't even know if they are still doing it.

The DVB broadcast from RTM has more than just 2 channels which includes their own music tv channel (not MTV) and some radio programming.
