Girls, where do you normally get your facial done? What are your experiences at beauty parlours?

So i went to this one beauty saloon in MidValley. Not sure if i am allowed to disclose the name? But it was quite a bad experience. The people there were so hard sale. I had to agree to buy their package which costs 1k+ even when I'm just a student. Then at every subsequent facial appointments they keep selling their products/services. I end buy spending about 2k already to get away from their persuading.

Recently i started saying no. Because i am really quite tight on budget already. Idc if my face doesn't improve or whatsoever i just want to use up all that I bought. Then they started giving me bad services. Like the other day, when she was extracting the black & whiteheads she was doing it so hard and continuously i was tearing like crazy she didn't care. Now the bumps on my forehead became red and swollen =.=

Am i the only one who experiences this?

well, i have been offered some hard sales before and i never gave in. my family is quite spoken so whichever parlour gives poor service, we complain to the extent of asking for refund. so they don't really dare to reckon with us....

if u mentioned midvalley, maybe there are two i can identify even though u disclose. it's at the boulevard area?

Oh..actually my parents are that too. but i clearly did not inherit this quality from them. Sigh. And i was alone. I still have 8 more sessions with them! Wonder if i can finish up all without being forced to buy more. =/ Umm, sorry im not very well versed with that area. it is in between midvalley and the gardens. I just wish to find a good parlour for my facials =(

is the place 2 names? originating from HK or at least got HK ambassador? laugh.gif
i go to their branch in Uptown. first time i went was after a friend gave me a free voucher. nice lor, so signed up for package because i didn't have any other facial package. few grands, each facial came up to about rm110? it was few years ago, hard to remember.

initially, during the first year, they did hard sell. sometimes i buy, sometimes i don't. but yea, i understand it is annoying esp when you don't know how to reject them politely and they don't know when to stop sweat.gif i still do visit them (got few more sessions, not sure if wanna top up) but now, they don't hard sell me anymore. will talk for like 2 mins n after seeing my muka 10sen (or takde duit) they stop.

Uh, three to be exact. MBS is the initials. Lol but yeah i think from hong kong. Sigh they're still very hard sell on me. After getting package for rm100 each, i even bought 10 sessions each of 2 treatments @.@ they say can incoporate with my facials. But when i go for my facials they'll intro new treatments and say the one i bought isn't suitable for my skin at that time. -.-" can't wait to finish the sessions and go for another one. But don't know which one is really honest, like they'll do treatment that'll really help my face >.<

I've never been there but I read in blog that all they care is sales and push people to buy this and that.

Most beauty salons use hard-sell tactics, it's so annoying. And the salesgirls doing so are mostly uneducated people who don't think twice about twisting and turning stories to make you buy. They like to give you the 'black face' if you don't buy from them. I went through a lot of 'first trials' with various salons, but will never sign up for them. Facial packages are all extremely over-priced, you should not need to pay more than RM50 for one single facial session.

I've had people told me that the first treatment can be 'acidic' (it's a groupon first trial), so must sign up for more package to treat the problem. I was so pissed that she thought she could threaten me, I said 'Are you saying you're gonna pour acid to my face? Then make me pay more so you can earn from the treatment?'. And she was the first and only salon person who said I got bad skin sweat.gif After the facial, she figured very likely I won't buy more from them. But I just wanted to know more about the packages, she replied 'Why ask me for the packages if you don't want to buy?'

Then I've had people who took photos of my face when I was doing facial, they don't even bother to ask for permission. They said it's to do comparisons later. Are they even aware it's an intrusion of privacy? After the facial, they took out the photos and start to do sales pitch based on 'before and after' comparisons. Gosh the stories they twist, there was an 'after' picture they took - Just because the angle is a bit slanted, it makes my face look sharper. LOL and they said 'Look! Your face is now sharper and slimmer bcuz of facial!' wtf sweat.gif Halo, they really think we can fall for that!

Nowadays I don't even go for facials anymore, I can never find a salon who can give good service at reasonable price. I'd rather use reliable and quality products, and take good care of skin. Wash, clean, hydrate and moisturise, remove dead skin, remove black heads, reduce usage of pore-clogging products/cosmetics, SPF... just make sure these steps are properly taken care of, healthy skin can be maintained. Don't need facials, salons don't even know what they're doing most of the time.

Oh my god sad.gif I should've done a research online before buying a groupon for a treatment there! And recently i succumb to their hard sell tactics again. sad.gif I swore to myself I won't buy anymore but I feel so weak when there are 2-3 of them against me. Sigh. I wonder if they can let me finish all my 10 facials and not make me buy more. Haigh. cry.gif cry.gif I could've invested in the most expensive clarisonic and SK-II facial products and get better results. sad.gif

Do not go for famous franchise. That's what I can advise you. I prefer those international brands like Babor, thalgo, celmonze, cellnique etc. they provide much better before and after services. Pls avoid New York skin, Modern beauty salon, shakura, glow & glamour or those famous franchise slimming centre place. Their therapist gets commission by number of customers they serviced in a day, so you can feel they just simply do a facial for u and move on to next customer. For them quantity is more important than quality. Also they will keep hard sell to get more commission!

Yep, tried both Celmonze (Hartamas) and New York Skin..

Celmonze beautician is very professional and willing to take 'No' for an answer. She knows not everyone can keep buying packages, and because she's so understanding, I always go back to her..

New York Skin sales girls are terrible la... I tried their Groupon promo with a friend (working).. They keep hard sell to her (her face quite bad), and she was inexperienced and got conned into buying 8k package... Then the girl came to me, I told her I don't have money (studying at that time), and she said my friend can pay for me... WTF!! Of course I don't believe her la.. And when I checked w my friend, so obvious the girl was lying... In the end I bought one bottle of moisturizer, just to shut her up. And my face became so red after using... Never going back there again!
