does it retain the compressed memory function as that in Mavericks?

There is a Compressed Memory column in Developer Preview 1, so yeah.

Installed Yosemite DP3 on my MBP on Tuesday. Stable enough for daily use except for a few minor issues :

Safari Tabs is a bit bugg, not showing at times..

Activity Monitor crash on launch

Dual screen causes the new transparency effect on windows to flicker (Just on Safari)

Other than that.. 10.10 is more refined than 10.9 in some ways. Loving it!

I think 4GB will run it just fine if you are not a heavy user.

Vmware Fusion 6.0.4 is now working on Yosemite. Haven't been running on it long enough to encounter any crash.

Depends on how big the file size are. Large photoshop files requires at least 8GB to load properly. 4GB is doable but will encounter some slow downs. 4GB is the bare minimum for general Photoshop usage.

Not really. It depends on how heavy your Photoshop work will be.

Received my invitation to the Public Beta this morning. The release will be the same as DP4 but with slower updates compared to the Developer's Preview build.

So, I've received the email too.

Next week is break, so that means more time to mess around with the beta.

I have been using it now, already encounter a few issue, those who use their MAC for their everyday work, don't install it, stutter lag sometimes.

Downloaded Yosemite public beta, and install on my 2nd partitioned HD on my 27" iMac model 2009. First impression after 24 hour use:
1. visual appearance much more pleasing than Maverick, which I like.
2. no issue during installation.
3. feel much more snappier than Maverick.
4. migration assistant works well too, to transfer the apps.
I should say so far so good.
Looking forward to official Yosemite release this fall.
Word of caution though! do not install in you main working partition drive for this public beta osx. Better be safe than sorry.
