In Xiaomi, your contact will be saved in one place only (which is Contact), it will not separate it out for google account, sim or device until you set it.

What I can advise you is, based on my finding(you can ignore it if you don't want this way)
1) make sure all your Contact, the number are added with country code.
Example: 0129876543 > change it to +60129876543
(You can download this application from Play Store name "Number Fixer", it will help you to do it for all contact in 3~5minutes time)

Method A
2) if you want to sync your contact from Google account, make sure your MiCloud synch for contact is off.



i) Go to your Settings > Account > Mi Cloud > turn off sync contact.

ii) Go to your Settings > Account > Google > turn on sync contact ( if you found your contact is not there, you required to install Google Contact Sync [if you using dev rom, it was not installed] )


once you got all your contact synch from Google account, if you still want it to be backup/sync to your MiCloud, before your enable it back, make sure your MiCloud Contact is empty and clean.

Method B,
1. At your Note 2, Export your all your contact as .vbs (this should be just 1 .vbs file only)
2. transfer it to your Mi3 using Bluetooth (any other method)
3. Turn off all your contact synch under your account.
4. open the .vbs you have transfer from your Note 2 in Mi3
5. once done, before you enable back your google, micloud synch, make sure those google account, Micloud account contact are empty cleared.

Bottom line,
You doesn't need to synch your contact to MiCloud and Google account, it is redundant.. of course you can do it..
As my self, i just enable contact synch for Google Account, the rest are off (for contact only)

as long as your Xiaomi Mi3 is WCDMA (legit one)
you can flash to whatever country rom you like where you can find at en.miui.com/download (except TD version)

last time encounter this problem due to screen protector. cheapo sp will make the screen oily and the responsiveness decrease.

done changing name to update and successful update n reboot with both update file(both file on op) still no superuser apps

this is the second time i'm having this issue the first time it was using the default protector when they shipped the phone. even after i removed it, still got same issue. hence the factory reset.

i've now use the screen protector bundled with the rm 36 package.
seems like if i turn ON the glove mode, it's slightly better.

funny thing is i can use micloud and google account sync at the same time
