Hi guys, wondering anyone been to the royal thai air force museum? If I'm not mistaken it was located near to the don muang airport. I will be touch down at don muang so I was thinking to pay this museum a visit.. Just wondering do they allow visitor with a luggage bag inside?

Any fastest way from don muang airport to museum? Thanks guys!

Allow me to share and contribute to this forum.

I took BTS from Surasak to Mochit yesterday, 8th June 2014, and at Mochit I took Bus A1 to Don Muang Airport.
I reached Mochit at about 9.55am and Bus A1 is already waiting at Mochit Station Exit3. The bus left the station at 10am on the dot and it takes about 15-20 minutes to reach Don Muang Airport.

To catch bus A1 from Mo Chit BTS station to Don Muang, take Exit 3.
At Exit 3, there will be a staircase on your left and an escalator on your right. You need to go to the Right hand direction.

note : The escalator will either be going down the station or going up the station at different time interval. The point is to go to the Right hand direction. If u take the staircase you will need to make a u-turn so u go back to the right hand direction. If you are lucky enough, the escalator is going down and you just take the escalator and walk straight and away from the escalator to reach bus A1.

Once your orientation is correct, walk about 20-30meters away from the escalator and the bus will be waiting there. There is no bus stop. Just wait for the bus to arrive. Bus A1 is yellow in color and the bus number is clearly displayed. 30THB to go to Don Muang

Hope the info helps.

I was lucky as the bus is already waiting when I get down the staircase. It only took me a short time to checkout both directions (left and right). Otherwise, i wouldn't be able to find it as well

I added a map below marked with RED X for everyone's convinience.
The distance on the map is just an estimation

I’d say your best option is hotel transfer. Most hotels have this service for free. If not, take the public taxi. You’ll get to the hotel in much the same way and time at about 40-50% less cost.

This place have one of the nicest view. Food wise I'm not too sure because I usually go there for drinks. 63rd floor with magnificent night view is worth the money especially if you go there with your love ones.

You want to try Chocolate Ville? Good for family outing, nice place for dining but quite far from BKK centre, about 45 mins taxi ride. http://www.chocolateville.net/

Take the BTS if your hotel is nearby/destination is nearby, else take tuk tuk to the BTS, some hotel provides that.
Else take cab is the 2nd choice, the cab is cheap, much cheaper than in M'sia.

The old MRT is the 3rd choice if you have to.
The last choice is to take bus because most of the time you have to speak Thai.

There's nothing dangerous in BKK unless you purposely go looking for it. Just make sure you avoid touts and taxi/tuk tuk driver who suggest to bring you shopping for cheap jewelry and food. Some may resort to telling you the place you are visiting is close and they have a better place to go, just avoid these people.

You just need pure common sense to survive BKK. I can definitely say you will enjoy your maiden trip and sure there's many more to come.

Bangkok will be warm and humid, if you go Chatuchuk Weekend Market, try to go early around 9am. Wear shorts, singlet and slippers.

Do visit Asiatique. http://www.thaiasiatique.com/index.php/en

A bit far from BKK, around 45 mins taxi ride will bring you to Chocolate Ville. http://www.chocolateville.net/
