Thanks for the head up. I've been to Banglampu (sub district of Khaosan st.)area since 2006...occasionally will go back there to meet some local friends to meet up. Im not the kind of party goers but sometimes will follow my friend to few club around there. I've been living in Bkk since 2008..since then..i hardly go to those places.

You're welcome. I usually will go to their hypermarketsto get snacks home smile.gif
I even bought a small packet to try it, indeed it's more aromatic comparing to Nescafe.

last year I went to Bangkok around end of June, hot during the day and rain in the evening. kinda a turn off because heavy rain almost every evening during my trip, can't do much. either I'm stuck in hotel or inside the mall sad.gif

Guys... If u can't speak thai, most taxi drivers will prolly not go by the meter.

Install grabtaxi app(for iOS I had to change my Apple Store to Thai 1) and uber, to have the privilege of meter taxi. Only downside is once u get them to come, there is buffer waiting time.. Lol. I personally prefer uber Bcoz they r younger drivers and English conversant.... Use uberX for cheapest. But not recommended for airport trips Bcoz flat rate 500thb(exclusive toll. Today I only paid 160 baht from sukhumvit to dmk-without toll)

Also a good trick to skip the 50baht fee if u take a taxi from dmk, is go to departure 1 floor up after buying SIM card.. Any1 who comes down just go towards the taxi and tell him where u wanna go... He shouldn't be allowed to ask for another 50baht.
Btw, motorway from dmk to city is 50+70....

If u don't want taxi to bring u a longer route, turn on waze and scrutinize him.. With the voice navigation, he be mindful b4 pulling tricks..
Halfway down my trip, my waze changed the voice into Thai lingo.... Lol. Don't know is it Bcoz update or location detection

Hi, wanna ask about waze. When you change your sim, the waze apps will prompt asking to use your old or new number too? Or it will just detect the new number and have to create a new waze account?

Take the bus at Survanabhumi or Hua Lumphong, or if u can speak Thai , rod dtu(minivan), the latter stop all over the place along the way, will take a longer time but the cheapest.

You could go to Victory Monument and get yourself a public transport out from the city there as most minibus is there.

Or you could travel to Survanabhumi from Don Muang via the free airport shuttle. Pleas retain your boarding pass just in case as it is a prerequisite to board the bus. Bus depart every 30 minit so it is very frequent.
