The game has gone gold and its due to be released on 9th September in the US.

http://relicnews.com/archives/2006/08/comp...heroes-is-gold/

PC Gamer US mag has reviewed the game on their latest issue and given it a 96%. No its not a review based on the beta but the final code of game. According to one the associate producer of the game, they were invited to their offices to play the game for 2 whole days.

This is the summary of the review....

QUOTE
Highs:
Amazing graphics and animations; destructible environments; intense
combat; diverse multiplayer; great sound; too much to list!

Lows: High system requirements; longish load times; not a lot of real estate for base building

Bottom Line: Not just the greatest WWII RTS ever, but one of the greatest RTS games ever, period."

Hunt: Yeah well, in spite of the fact that I can't stand most of the newer WW2 RTS', I MUST try them (Unless they're sequels to something that I didn't like before).

So, yes, I will give this a shot... As soon as I get my PC back up.

Well thats good to know. I cant stand the older WW2 RTS games as well....somehow it gets real old soon. funny biggrin.gif

Speaking about the sys req. there is nothing official yet but minimum req. for the final game is a P4 or Athlon 2Ghz, 512 MB, 64 MB PS 1.1 graphics card. The only difference with this and the beta's higher requirements is the beta is usually not optimized to run at those requirements and will generally run poorly on low end systems. So basically, any system that's higher than the min. system requirements will play the game well. In the end its all down to your graphics card...PS 1.1 low setting, PS 2.0 low/medium setting and SM 3.0/4.0 medium/high setting. Ultra setting is usually reserved for really high end 512MB cards and DX10 cards.

BTW hata_yie, I currently hang out on the OMAHA chat channel or any with higher number of players usually on nights. My player handle is Araes

Check out this funny fan made video (with tunes from Hogan's Heroes)tongue.gif

The moment has arrived, Relic's next RTS blockbuster is now available for all to preview. A singleplayer demo of Company of Heroes has been released, it comes at 1.75 GBs in size but its well worth the download as it has four tutorials and two single-player missions, starting with the invasion of Omaha Beach landing and skirmish content. Make sure you meet the minimum sys. requirement:

You downloaded the beta version of the singleplayer ( originally came together with the PC GAMER mag)...this one is an optimized version and is using final build from the gold master that they sent for manufacturing. Hence the lower requirements, only needs a minimum of 512MB ram. This final version also has more content than the singleplayer beta. smile.gif

Take a look at the min. requirements again...
