i'm going through the same process myself currently

first....you have to find a contractor and an architect who can work together if you are doing any extension works or changing your house design, engaging an architect is a must

the fees of the architect starts from few k onwards...they will kautim until submission into local municipal; like DBKL, MPPJ, MPSJ & etc

then be prepared to pay another 1k to 2k for the local municipal bins and so on

then you have to review your floor plans, elevation plans, ventilation & etc.

for rough estimation of reno cost, each new sqft builtup cost roughly from RM180/sqft to RM300/sqft depending on your quality finishing expectation.
This includes structural, walls, roof, plumbing and flooring.

Those that's not rebuilt, maybe change new or modify will be different charges.

It does not include things like 3phase upgrades, rewiring of the entire house and etc.

Safe to say, if you want to rebuild entire house from ground up, RM250/sqft would be a good gauge.
That will allow you to put in stuffs like wood laminated flooring up to 12mm, high grade clay roof tiles with heat proofing, good floor water proofing and etc.

if u don't feel comfortable to disclose price of your house its okay but at least give cost of your renovation.

Many of us keen to know how much it cost to tear down a entire intermediate link house and to rebuild. This is massive construction,no longer renovation.

Ask ur architect or building draughtman.sure they know..

As of today my house has almost renovated about 10 weeks. Attached is the progress of my construction... tentatively my contractor is doing good... very helpful and nice ppl.... looking forward to their continuous good working effort..... Now I believe choosing a rite contractor is really important....... =)

Wow....that's one major reno. Your neighbors will hate you after your completion because it will make their units look outdated.
