How is the build quality of metal build compare to MG?
is the articulation and joint as strong as Metal build? durable for play, or jz for display only?
*

Having owned both MG Destiny & MB Destiny, I'll try to answer you, but keep in mind I'm not comparing MG & MB 00R directly.

In a sentence, MB's build quality, articulation and joint stifness is better than MG's. I wouldn't say it's durable for play but it should be strong enough to withstand multiple pose changes, at least better than an MG.

QUOTE(jason_tan1980 @ Aug 10 2014, 06:25 PM)
for my impression, gunpla is always quite fragile and not durable for frequent change of posing and articulation, the joint will get loosen once you played too long.
it is light and only for display.
*

What you said is true, but there is absolutely no action figure or model kit that will not get loose when played with overtime. Wear and tear will always be there. So will friction and gravity.

Model kits have always been engineered for display, and never for play.

QUOTE(jason_tan1980 @ Aug 10 2014, 08:03 PM)
besides, I am hot toys and diecast car collector before, so I am looking for some playable and durable quality similar as these both.
*

A diecast car is very durable but not very playable (except rolling it on floor). A HotToys figure is playable but not very durable (leather peeling off, rubber cracking, color fading, loose joints, thin fragile parts). So if you're looking for something that fulfills BOTH of those criteria, I would say it doesn't exist, not even a fully diecast action figure because weight itself will kill whatever joint durability it has.

I would say an MB would suit you better than an MG. Articulation for MB Destiny is superior to its MG counterpart at least for the upper torso, shoulders and arms. Legs and feet articulation are mostly the same for both. Built mostly out of ABS plastic with some diecast parts (similar to the Masterpiece Optimus Prime MP10 and Soundwave MP13), MB Destiny has better weight distribution to offset the huge and heavy wings. It is even heavier, more poseable and more durable than your HT Iron Man Mark VI despite it being smaller! I'm not kidding.

The paintjob is flawless. Articulation is superb. Only thing offsetting is the price but I would say it's worth it. Try holding one in your hand. It will not disappoint.

both are models which are for display only. If you looking for action figure level of durability, can try look for Robot Damashi series.

Metal Build used die-cast joints which is more strong to hold the model in certain positions.
And the heavier body also helps the model to balance itself, especially for those kits with large backpack.

I personally highly recommend Metal Build series. thumbup.gif

I suggest to get an MG over HG. For an adult you should have no problem to comprehend the assembly. Get a good yet reasonably priced MG like Jesta.

Hey Bro, thanks for your detailed analysis and information, I truly appreciate that.

Ya, I agree with you that none of the figure is durable and playable, but I just looking for gundam figure that at least the joint is not so fragile, and can hold some weight.
Besides, for me as a no experienced collector who doesn't know how to assemble a PG gundam, metal build probably should be my only choise to keep some gundam in my collection.

Bro, you got my point, I looking for a gundam which has die-cast joints strong enuf to hold the model in certain positions.

the ordinary model kits are jz a bit loose to hold some weapon, that i saw in youtube.
this drive me back from getting an MG...or even PG.

or maybe MSIA (mobile suit in action) as an option for you
or Robot Damashi series...
smaller in scale, but pose-able.

Bro, used to big scale already...I've already long time used to the size of 1/6 by hot toys. wink.gif

MG is the minimum size i can accept for a collectible figure... cry.gif

I feel you too... would buy the heck out of pre-built gundam model since I have no patient to horn my modelling skill sweat.gif
the even worse thing that pull me from collecting Robot Damashi is they are non-scaled... shakehead.gif so I'll stick with HG.

Not really. Sure, they will reduce the price for certain MG and make them really good bargains (like the Titus and Jesta), but other than that nothing impressive. Yeah they will bring out some of the limited items once in a while laugh.gif
