I want to paint the emblem of my HGUC Kshatriya but if possible I want to avoid using reverse washing technique because it requires many different types of paint which are expensive. I want to save money if possible hehe.

I'm planning to use masking tape and mr sol to cover the black part and spray the whole thing with a white spray can. Will this work, or will it be ugly if I do it this way?

Please help a noob out, thanks!

But after my office moved to Damansara Perdana, Rex is at my house until I figure out how to layout the toys in the new office. Currently office desk has Jaeger instead

I see, understand d prob already. I juz finished assembling d head n core fighter. Started assembling d torso n notice d "ez to pop off" shoulder joints..I guess I juz love OYW version d best. This kit is more interesting to assemble but look wise, OYW is d best for me

Hand paint.

Second that. Masking those emblems is a lot of work to start with but with spraycan you can't control the layer of paint very good which might result in fuzzy edges. Hand paint might take a few layers but is much easier to control.

you wont need to do masking for emblem if you know reverse wash

Reverse washing is so much more convenient than masking, especially those gold trims on Sinanju.

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't have an airbrush, so can I reverse wash using spray can?
This is my first time painting so please correct me if I'm wrong.

My plan for Kshatriya:

1. Prime
2. Spray with white lacquer/acrylic paint (2 coats)
3. Top coat
4. Spray with black enamel (2 coats)
5. Use lighter fluid and cotton bud to brush away the enamel paint and reveal the emblem.
6. Top coat again.

Will this step work? and do I really need to use gloss top coat? because I prefer matte.

THis will require more money than hand brushing but hopefully the results will be better.

Thank you sifus.
