When collecting a new City, what are the common things to check in the car?

Apart from ensuring we get the service booklet. Heheee...
*
Yeah, i want to know too...getting the car this Saturday. All i know is to check the gap of the dashboard behind the front doors (need to open door to see it). Anything else?

There is NO ratios

7-speed VIRTUAL ratios are available on 2006 CVT City
Previous generation uses 5-speed conventional AT
Current City is back to CVT, NO VIRTUAL RATIOS

I hope theres no more problem with the gearbox like the iDSI...
Although Honda says its due to wrong transmission oil being used caused the
problems, I am not convinced thats the whole story....which is probably why the
New city 2014 gearbox also comes with a torque converter + cvt. Apparently,
this is how the gearbox in thr Mitsubishi is designed.
Because of the wrong fluid horror story, makes me paranoid...when change CVt gear oil for my Inspira...I told them make sure use correct fluid and not cvt oil for Saga...
I even check the used empty bottles after they put it in just to make sure its the right oil...sweat.gif...

Already happened before Proton SC put wrong fluid in CVT. I expect at least a few cases with Honda since right now only the new City is on CVT, others (old City, CRV, Civic, Accord etc.) are on conventional AT. Sure will have confusion whistling.gif
*
I hope after the last fiasco, surely all the SC knows about this issue. Anyway, when changing CVT gear oil, i will stand there and watch them do it...check the bottles b4 they pour...take pictures also!!!!

i don't feel any response lag with the City seriously...maybe i am use to drive-by-wires on the Inspira and Savvy.
It's just that the CVT don't make sudden pull. Driving my manual Savvy, can feel the pull when changing gear and accelerating hard..engine garang and loud.....but the speedometer go up very slow to 60 km/h....when i drive my Inspira, dun feel anything, but speedometer goes up very fast to 60km/h!! tongue.gif

previously i drive altis 1.8G year 2005 with 4AT ....and before that is vios first generation auto also 4AT.

Both is used unit....so this City is consider my first new car in my life.. smile.gif
*
I believe those older cars use throttle and not drive by wire, hence, it gives the impression of response lag.
All news cars now are drive by wire...except maybe Perodua...tongue.gif

But in terms of power, definitely City cannot compare with 1.8L engine lor.

Suspension warranty MAY void rolleyes.gif

Aiyo, suspension kong, change aftermarket suspension lor brows.gif

But logically thinking, suspension SHOULD NOT kong if u use correct replacement size. Ask tyre shop and/or use online tyre size calculators to work out the correct replacement sizes.
*
Its not about logic..problem is car manufacturer has the right to reject warranty claims if rims are modified, regardless its caused by that or not.
I wont be changing rims for the time being. Just tyres.

Btw, there was a link wirh very good read regarding tyres offset and why it can cause problem to the suspension. Dunno where liao.

Mazda 3 cbu 2010
1.6cc.
Bought the under powered model
Perhaps this is the reason
*
Underpowered C segment car.
Sure suck fuel.

Basically C segments car, minimum is 1.8l
Which is why there is no Cerato 1.6l in US, minimum 1.8l...

Only in Malaysia, they sell you 1.6l so that more people can afford to buy
and more sales ...

Well.  The price difference is 15k.  Which is not a big amount.
But then I was thinking that it's not worth it at that time.  Lol.
Well,  if highway.  I can clock in on a 600km fuel tank.
*
Inspira can easily clock 750km on highway....Paultan test shows 900km...but in city,
I can only get 360km highway drive always can get good fc..only city which is killing.
