QUOTE(propusers @ Dec 30 2014, 01:32 PM) Not sure for OCBC... here is what we can get from Alliance FAQ... if all banks using same standard policy, there is no RM50 GST after 1st april 2015. so the first question means that we all wont get RM50 charged even before 1 April 2015?http://www.alliancebank.com.my/GoodsAndServicesTax/FAQ CREDIT CARD / DEBIT CARD / ATM CARD Will Credit Card Service Tax RM50 be imposed on my credit card after GST is implemented? GST will replace the RM50 Credit Card Service Tax effective 1st April 2015. I just paid RM50 for Credit Card Service Tax on 25.03.2015, will you prorate the fee with the implementation of GST from 1st April 2015 and refund the balance? GST will not be charged on annual fees that have already been subject to the RM50 Credit Card Service Tax paid prior to 1st April 2015. GST will only be applied upon the due date of the next annual fee. If my credit/debit/ATM card annual fee is waived, will I still be charged GST? No, there is no GST charge on the waived annual fee. If I am a non-Malaysian making purchases using the Bank's credit/debit/ATM card? Am I still subjected to 6% GST? Yes, all banking services rendered and conducted in Malaysia are subjected to GST. You will be subjected to GST at the standard rate for the fees and other related charges e.g. annual fee, cash advance/ withdrawal fee and card replacement fee. |

QUOTE(laymank @ Dec 30 2014, 02:16 PM) They way i understand from the statement is, there will still impose RM50 Service Tax for credit card until 1st Apr 2015. so let say i pay RM50 on last day of March, will they rebate? After which, GST will replace Service Tax and if your card requires you to pay annual fee, it will be subjected to 6% GST, likewise the banking transactions rendered, "all banking services rendered and conducted in Malaysia are subjected to GST. You will be subjected to GST at the standard rate for the fees and other related charges e.g. annual fee, cash advance/ withdrawal fee and card replacement fee." What I am not clear is, if bill payment through the bank's web portal will subject me to 6%. if yes, then we will be paying 6% to the bank, and the service provider that we are paying to already charged us 6% = 12%???? |

QUOTE(laymank @ Dec 30 2014, 02:45 PM) Your question is exactly this: ok. then they might as well dont post that stupid question at all duh"I just paid RM50 for Credit Card Service Tax on 25.03.2015, will you prorate the fee with the implementation of GST from 1st April 2015 and refund the balance? GST will not be charged on annual fees that have already been subject to the RM50 Credit Card Service Tax paid prior to 1st April 2015. GST will only be applied upon the due date of the next annual fee." it doesn't seem to answer the question, but my understanding is, once you paid, it's paid and no refund nor prorated rebate whatsoever. What the statement above seems to imply that, the new GST will not be applicable to your credit card until the next renewal date. ie. If your card has annual fee, it will not be subjected to 6% GST, but the subsequent year's will. |

QUOTE(firee818 @ Feb 27 2015, 04:11 PM) I think it was based on the amount you spent over the previous 12 months. On average I used this card RM 2500 per month, that is equivalent to RM 2500 x 12 = RM 30,000- pa. i also spent more than 30k but no rebate given! QUOTE(firee818 @ Feb 27 2015, 04:12 PM) i mean month lol. which month expirei'm trying to gather info on how they give rebates |

QUOTE(firee818 @ Feb 28 2015, 08:33 AM) Take easy, after 1/4/2015 when GST kick-in, no more RM50 service tax for all credit cards. i think as long u keep using and keep paying, its considered as renewed? lolBTW, is it possible to renew my OCBC Titanium card after expiring because I have been using this card for auto payment. If it cannot be renewed, I will need to apply all the auto-payment matters again... |

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Mar 10 2015, 07:53 AM) But compare to OCBC Great Eastern MasterCard, this is still better for lower income card holder... regarding the 1% for the 365 card, i'm not sure how to interpret it exactly but i think what they meant was minimum spending of RM1000 to be eligible for 1% cr.Same features, and some more this Great Eastern come with 1% cash back all the way of spending things about bank is, they like to play with word, they ranked second next to lawyers in twisting words |
