Supp guys. Anybody knows what's the problem if the meter display for my Kancil year 2006 850 Auto isn't shown clearly? It's like always bobbing around and not fully showing the gear reading and odo/trip meter.

Your hobby like everywhere siaaaaa ... No la I just mean that I saw you on that forum , not saying you own one. What other hobbies you have sia ?

Side Note :-
My kancil kena bang left fender , right fender , bumper need change.  shocking.gif My ex driving bang people... Sad sia ...
Another thing is i feel not enough speed la ! . L5 Auto . 140 kmh i wanna go 160-170 . Any advice?

I somehow feel my pick up on 80 kmh above not that good , how do I improve on that ?

Drive so fast ah everyday? sweat.gif
So far my ED-DE block stock served me well. laugh.gif

My aircon fan motor died last week. Went for check up and replacement. Meanwhile service everything also. Engine oil, coolant, ATF fluid and alignment.

Btw, wanna ask something. When I turn my steering to the right, there's this toktoktoktok sound. What could it be? hmm.gif

Anybody knows what's the price for bug-eye kancil mudflaps?
Also, is it really necessary to change the whole meter box cos the ODO light isn't working ady plus some of the LCD aren't clear anymore. It's a 2004 EZI. ohmy.gif

most probably yes need to change the whole meter.
bug eye kancil LCD is famous for failing.

mud flaps not sure never change b4.

Hmm. That sucks but it's still usable so it's not a major problem.

My air-con compressor finally gave out the other day. It went haywire when I drove. Drastic loss of power and droning when accelerating.
Went to air-con shop, changed to new Denso compressor, Bando belting, Denso expansion valve, oil and full dismantle + cleaning all in all 650. puke.gif puke.gif
But now no more hissing sounds. Less rattle. Ticking minimized. biggrin.gif

Guys, who changed their mounting?

When I stay in D and hit the breaks during jams it got quite noisy. I suspect the aircon guy kinda made something loose. But I'm not entirely sure. hmm.gif

Usually how much workshop charge for mounting and installation? Have to lift up the engine eh? sweat.gif

maybe mounting liao... they will lift up with jack etc.. dont think too much, just prepare the money
maybe need top overhaul.. oil at spark plugs not a good sign
*
Apparently it's my fault also. airbox clip MIA ady. DIYed some clips and fasten it. Black metal paper clip handles. laugh.gif
Some soft material around dashboard helped.

But I have 1 priority to fix la. Whenever slowly turn to the right, there's the toktoktok sound. Bushing, cv joints, boots or drive shaft? Need to prep myself with diagnosis later people simply potong me. vmad.gif

saw some garage manage to load viva engine to kancil. Anyone plan for this? i feel that EJDE fuel consumption is too high. Even drive relax and ezi, 20liter only can go up to 200km.
*
Mine's ED-DE all stock. 20L can go up to 270+KM. I hantam pedal like 70% of the time in short bursts every morning. Kinda degraded also.

probably cv joint. check for tear at that rubber protector on the cv joint. if its tore than for sure ur cv joint.
*
I better check it out then. I thought the CV joint is the most likely culprit.

QUOTE(embekism @ Jun 21 2016, 05:33 PM)
if hentam pedal to floor, only can go up to 150km. Clean throttle already. change air filter to mushroom. add in voltage stabilizer and multiple ground cable to alternator and body. -VE 4gauge cable to alternator.. still fuel guzzling.

i think it is my aircond condenser dragging the car... anyone with EJ DE here can share experience.

oh yeah, mine is auto. L2 gearbox 4 speed.

could be the gear ratio?? i dunno .. Use to own a kelisa auto before. Fuel was not this bad.

Anyway, very syiok bila tarik. Main 60 to 80km .. potong with confident.
*
QUOTE(embekism @ Jun 21 2016, 05:46 PM)
ED DE is 850cc right? manual or tranny auto? what if i redo exhaust piping and extractor? will it make any different?

journey a day.. home - office - home is about 60km. in 3 days have to refill again. damm.. that is too much for a kancil. Even my alza is not fuel guzzler.

What if downgrade to 660T, JB or EF series? Still can enjoy power and fuel optimization? any one with experience here please share.
*
QUOTE(embekism @ Jun 21 2016, 05:48 PM)
same here. driving auto also. left mounting. mine lasted for a year only. dont get cheap imitation mounting. go for ori. at least will ast you 3 years.
*
Not sure about that. Engine bay head ok? If mushroom type I'm always wary of the placement. It might suck in hotter air. Your FC sweat.gif I think 660T downgrade might be a wiser choice.

Only auto is available for ED-DE. Kelisa 850cc engine. Mine is the highest spec Kancil with skimmed alloys.

TBH, I think 4AT is more efficient than my zaman kuno 3AT. So I doubt that is the cause. More likely it's your AC compressor. Used Denso or a more powerful aftermarket one?

QUOTE(Xcal @ Jun 21 2016, 07:29 PM)
Dear all,

My kancil 850 aircond is not working at all. When I switch it on only air is blowing. Before it fails few weeks ago it will have this click click sound when I switch the air cond on or switch between ECO mode and AC mode.

Went to a workshop and they found out that the pipe is leaking gas. No gas in the system. And they mention that the compressor is not good anymore. How do I know whether it's just the pipe leakage problem or should I also change the compressor?

I mention the Vitara compressor and the workshop said it's not good. He recommends me a Denso compressor used from Japan. Is that a good one? Price quote to change to that compressor and the hose that is leaking is around 500-600 he said. Is that the normal price? sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif
Feel so broke.. sad.gif
*
Been there, done it bro. Except my AC condenser kong ady. RM600 gone.
Changed to recon Denso compressor (380), expansion valve (80), receiver drier (60), Bando aircon-belting (30), cleaning/servicing/flushing systems, refill compressor oil etc (-/+ 60). Thankfully cooling coil is in good condition.

Now cold af. No more loud clicking noises. Car also runs better. More pickup liao.

Thanks for the reply.. so I guess that would be around the same price probably. I am not sure whether is he charging me 500+ just for the compressor alone lol. Then that would be serious ouch.

Did you have to change your ac condenser too? How much does it cost for that? Sighhhh...
*
At least you know how much it should actually costs now. Don't kena potong.
http://www.lelong.com.my/perodua-kancil-sd...7-01-Sale-I.htm

Should be right around 150-200.

I also had my radiator motor replaced. Mine is 11 years old now. Needs a lot of taking care as parts are wearing off.

This fellaknows a lot about AC systems, I read the qs and answers before I went to get mine checked. laugh.gif

Thanks bro. Hopefully. For me I think if replace all like yours is a good price I think.
The Denso compressor the mechanic recommends me looks bit bad.. maybe caused it's used but it's more exp than recond he said. sad.gif

I read some about Hinly Air Cond shop maybe will try there but problem is the distance.
*
I wouldn't judge the external look of the item. But for me as long as it's not worn out internally, it should be fine. But used item might be a hit or miss. If it's more than my recond Denso price, I suggest you look elsewhere.

This guy did his own and bought a used Mira unit for <200. Check out half-cut workshops for a bargain maybe?

Yup.. Thanks a lot. I probably don't have as much skills as that guy in the blog hehe.
Will have a look at that next week, I hope it's okay to drive around without AC for now.
*
Just make sure your fan works if the engine temperature goes over half. If not, you've got a problem there.

Getting the toktoktok sound when giving slow turns.

Need to replace CV joint or just the rubber boot?
Driver side is still ok.

Should be the long drive shaft instead of the short drive shaft right? Driving 2005 EZI EFI ED-DE if that matters.

2 years ago  i replaced the both side the new drive shaft. Didnt know if can replace the rubber boot only.

They  charge (including labour charge)around/start from rm 120-160 for each. Can remember which side. Maybe the short one is rm120.

I have no idea if  the charge was reasonable/expensive.
*
I checked around for the prices of the shaft. It's market price I think. Thanks for the input! Need to go to bengkel for diagnostics I guess.

It costs me around 300 for the replacement of the rubber boots last time. Usually shops prefer to change the shaft and boots one set instead of changing the rubber boots. Have to admit I got perhaps overcharged by this mechanic in Puchong.

RM 40 for each rubber boots = 4 x 40... There are 2 connected to each shaft

160 + Labour (110) + Grease (20) + GST sad.gif

Already one year but still have some tok tok sounds still when turning.. Not sure if the boots are still intact lol
Question:

Anyone knows how many bulbs the kancil has actually? I read somewhere that it uses H4 bulbs. Two bulbs each side?

The weird thing is my lights are working for low beam and high beam... but not for the lowest setting.. the one where there's just light but it doesn't beam out. Not sure what that is called.
*
Changing shaft would cause less problems in the long run I think. Probably will hold onto this car for 1/2 years. 2005 EZi Twincam in mint condition now from what I've surveyed is around 10-12K at least. I quite sayang the car although I've owned the car for less than half its age. Polish selected areas and wax 2 months at a time. I'll just rinse and wipe after that. laugh.gif

i have same model 2005 twincam. engine look like kelisa kan?

wah didnt know the market price are quite high.
*
Yes. It's basically the 850cc Kelisa engine with a smaller bore compared to the 1.0 version. That and the addition of power side mirrors and skimmed alloys made it priced that way. 6% depreciation rate from what I've check 2 years back. Not bad lah. biggrin.gif

That means ours damn rare. Retro 3 speed auto some more.
I think swapping to a 4 speeder Cuore gearbox also no problem. biggrin.gif

Gais. My auto SLK is shaking during D with aircon on. It's unbearable. RM400 for ori mounting ok? ED-DE engine. It's fine without A/C in D.

Dear Kancil owners.

I'm asking behalf of family friend whose Kancil 850EZi has knocking sound coming from the frontal portion of the car. The sound is like thang thang thang thang. Suspect the root cause is bushing, axle, rod.

Anyone has experience the above symptoms and what is the actual root cause and the cost of fixing it up?

Will it be advisable to have it done outside or at Perodua Service Centre?

Thanks a lot.
*
Same car here. The sound occurred only when slow turning or just normal driving?
Mine is the steering bush rod. I've replaced it on one side + the rubber boot was torn as well. Any service center will do. They will have the parts. Mind you ours Auto DOHC EZi model has a different bushing set as well as diff. engine mounts.
