Am I Telecommunication Engineer?
I didn't learn RF and radio network design, just briefly know about GSM/WCDMA...

Am I Computer Engineer?
There's no programming language is offered such as MS SQL, Java, Perl, Oracle...

Am I Network Engineer?
I know nothing about router, switch, LAN, WAN...

Am I EE Engineer?
I didn't learn more about CMOS, VHDL, Verilog...
Who Am I? rclxub.gif

Your degree is quite similar to mine.

1st question: I did learn basic EM theory, analogue and digital communcations.

2nd question: I did learn about basic SQL, IBM DB2 as my elective. J2ME and J2SE are self learning. Other programming includes C and assembly language.

3rd question: I did learn basic data communcation and computer networking.

4th question: I did learn about electronics, circuit theory and digital logics.

Hhmn..the title of your degree does indeed sound confusing. Anyway what job did u apply? If your results are good you can always say that the university gives you the environment to have the trained mind to think ahead of normal workers.

It's not strange. I think UTP also got such course. A combination of Computer and Communcation Engineering but it's still an electronics degree.

Did you bring along your full result transcript? Well, as for me, I did bring that along and attach it with my resume.

I'm also totally disagreed with the statement that local graduates are suck. They're in fact very competitve.

It's impossible for you to know everything. I think instead of questioning what you don't have; you should proudly announce what you have that can help him in his company.

It's true that you can't know everything but at least, you should convince them what you have learnt before. At least, they won't accuse you and you should defend it. It's not that easy to refresh what you have learnt during your first or second year unless you did some preparation on them.

I don't think so.
I never heard of such course in UTP.

There is an ICT(Information Communication Technology) course offered here and certainly it isn't electronics degree.

The only electronics degree related in UTP would be Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

I think should be this one "majoring in Computer Systems Engineering" or "majoring in Communications Systems". But the first one is more accurate.

Then it's either the UTP site is rather confusing by putting there "majoring in" instead of naming it as subjects for a general E & E degree. Plus one of my friend who has finished an engineering course at UTP also not clear with the UTP system. I was doing a comparison from what friend told me. We did compare the list of subjects between UTP and my university.

Well, I don't want to argue anymore. It's either my fault or my friend is a dumb ass.

Sorry for that ...

Well, I have no choice. I'm not from UTP but he's. I just try to rationalize with some information I exchanged with my friend. Perhaps the information given isn't that accurate or reliable.

Don't worry ... I'm still know who I am.

I have to admit that local universities offer a lot of funny courses which some of them might not hear before. sweat.gif
