Ahem, so what's the good news Ong had in store for us?

I'll be at Toybox 3pm-ish. Hope we can secure a draft session.

I don't mind drafting only Illidan, but we need more draft kakis to make this happen. I'm pretty new to drafting WOW myself.

BTW what's realms? Is that the Magic's Pro Tour equivalent for WOW?

Quoting a post in the WOW tcg forum:

QUOTE
Realms - The Realm Qualifier information is complete and the tournaments are being scheduled  There are more events for this season than there were for early 2008.  Less players will be qualified per event, but there are more events in your Realm.  This way, we can hit more locations where players play and not necessarily have them scheduled all in one store.
Realm Championship - This is 90% done.  We need to finalize two championship locations in the US, finalize the locations for the championships in Netherstorm (Singapore) and Zangarmarsh (Philippines), and receive the list of championship locations for the EU Realms. We have the prize for the Realm Championship approved, we need to finalize the prize for the Realm Open though.  There will be less players qualified for each Realm Championship, but there are other tournaments for players and each Realm Championship Weekend will be treated as a mini-DMF.

So in other words, they're might have qualifiers in Malaysia, and the championship final will be held in Singapore, yet again.

vcws: I'm happy to see most Malaysians did at least 3-4 or better. At least we dragged other Asian contenders along with us yawn.gif

And geez, exclusive content for existing players in that Drums of War preconstructed starter deck doh.gif
Hope there's no Greench level-like card in it, otherwise that'll just be insane. Guess, there's only one month left for me to catchup on WOW. Come October, it'll be time for me to catch up on MTG.

I'll be playing WOW competitively, if there's organized play support in Malaysia.

I'll be at Toy Box tomorrow, hopefully we can a draft session going this time around.

As expected Frost Mage is Traitor Druid's bad matchups sad.gif

Wastewalker Helm + Form of the Serpent/Wrath/Moonfire seems to be a good maindeckable answer for Water Elemental/big ally removal.

Need to test that in the next league smile.gif

Not a fan of combo myself. Most often than not, if you don't draw your combo pieces, you're screwed.

Leggings on it's own looks pretty decent for control decks or rush mirrors. Though they'll probably raped you in the ass, if they have Brok or Rasfari in hand.

I'm a little confused on this Saturday's draft tournament. Do we get to play only one draft pod, as in three rounds only?

Happy to see that we have own qualifiers here.

I'll probably need to borrow some cards for the tournament.

Wow, just what we need - an uncounterable hero. Don't think it's competitively playable, but I may be wrong.

Great to have the realm qualifiers locally, though the short notice for such event is disappointing. Good luck finding cards like Vindicator's Brand, Onaala, Belt of Blasting, etc. here.

I hope I get my cards from the mail soon, otherwise I might have to skip the qualifier next week sad.gif

Was a while since I've last seen you. Anyway thanks for borrowing me the cards for the continentals.

My block deck is ready, save for some proxies - need to pick up the actual cards from a couple of players to complete my deck. Will be at Toybox this Friday evening for some playtest and see if it's tournament worthy.

Nice retep .. ur deck is rdy. My deck not yet rdy at all, dun have some cards .. and no time for practice. I might just miss this RQ this saturday.
What are the cards you're looking for? If you're not playing, would you be coming on that day?

Saruman: The decklist's at http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/WOW/COM...ad/1411312.aspx

I think Balance Druid is a better choice than the traitor version for block constructed. You have access to Insect Swarm and Taheo Skyspeaker+Invigorating Touch tech to deal with rush decks.

Perhaps after Black Temple's out, Obliveron will be the de facto the deck-to-beat.

Xeno: Hope you're able to get the cards build a deck on time for the tourney.

That solo Warrior deck looks strong and made me realized Warrior's the strongest class in block. It looks like it has all the answers to deal with almost, if not everything, you can throw at them.

I think Fallenstar is a bad matchup for priest. Draw power + protectors (against Voidfire Wand) + instant equipment removal (Smash and Wreck) = a huge blow to the priest' face.

Today's Realm qualifiers was great. Managed a 4-1 results to get to the top 8 with my Joren deck, losing only to Ong's solo Warrior. All of us at top 8 decided to split the prizes and gave the invites to those interested in going, including myself.

In short, Deep Sea Salvage + Voidfire Wand + Divine Spirit = win

A bit of topic here but will there be any hobby league at CC DJ this Saturday? Or there'll be another MTG release event?

xeno: Sure, just give me the card list and I'll see what I can do.

kenix: No, you don't have to, though if you have experience playing other trading card games that would help.

I started off with the online tutorial.

Go to http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/...ay/default.aspx and click on "Launch World of Warcraft Demo".

Other than that, buy a booster packs and study the cards' layout.

You can also drop by Toybox during the afternoon, someone there may be able to demo the game to you, or you can probably see how the games' played when they're having some games there.
