Usually it's not the price but the cards availability that'll cause the problem for you. I've bought like 80% of my cards online because they're not available locally/lazy to buy cards from players/cheaper. For some reasons players here swear by Starcitygames.com' prices list which most of them are outright overpriced. if you're comfortable buying stuff online, I suggest that you get the cards from online retailers.

My cheapest deck so far is like RM80++, and my expensive one so far cost RM600++. YMMV depending on the decks you want to build and whether you're going the casual route or the competitive route. Unfortunately the competitive scene in Malaysia is pretty much lackluster, in which case; you should look into Magic the Gathering card game if competition is your thing.

I think Sayge'll only be good against control decks with few win conditions.

I'll not be able to make it tomorrow at CC or TB.

Xeno, let me know what cards you need by early next week and if you want we can meet up to playtest.

Just some quick questions:

1) Can I lay a resource and a location on the same turn?
2) What time does the realm qualifier starts this weekend?
3) For the realm qualifier, say my opponent and I drew 1-1, what happens? Sudden death?

Thanks in advance.

Ah, so you can tap a location for a resource. Nice.

Xeno: That sucks. Though seriously, I would rather play in the Realm Open than the actual Realm Championship itself - much better prizes IMO.

Was busy with work lately, no time to buy the cards or playtest sad.gif

I'm missing some cards for my deck at the moment, hopefully I can pick it up from someone's folder tomorrow. All the best to those who's playing tomorrow.

xeno: Hope you can get your deck ready next month for the last qualfier.

The turnout for today's tournament was pretty bad at 14 people, I think, worse compared to the last one. Chris, Ong and Ian won the invites, while I've already qualified so my invitation was passed down to someone.

Like the many traitors in the Worlds' meta, most decks today went the traitor path for Illidan.

our country got drum of war sneak preview?

Yes, though I don't know much of the details since we've yet to get our stocks from Singapore as of last Saturday. If my memory serves me right, it's going to be held on 11am at CC, not sure which one, for about 32 players (?). The format will be sealed, 3-rounds swiss (1 match per round).

I really doubt the prerelease is going to be held in Toybox as no such annoucement was made in their web page. This can only be bad since many of us are in the dark about it, which turns into poor turnout whatever.

Jesus christ, 85 bucks for sealed? For only 5 boosters? To be frank this a frigging blatant ripoff. If I were to buy the packs online it'll only cost RM9 each, which only amounts to 45 bucks for packs of 5, shipping excluded.

I know supporting local stores is critical to the local scene and the stores need to make some profit by marking up the price of the product etc. etc.

Screw this, I'm not going this weekend.

Good luck peter. What deck u planning to play ?

Just came back. I was playing Raesa Morningstar with some light discards and more controlish. Unfortunately I did 0-3, dropped. I'm actually happy with the current deck, all the games that I've lost were very close at 1-2, 1-2, 1-2. It was more of a battle of who top-decked the winning condition.

Not sure how the rest did as I did not stay on to watch the rest of the matches and decided to spend my time in Orchard Rd. instead. Hope Popcorn or whoever can provide a proper coverage/results for the remaining Malaysian players.
