Full rev is noisy man. 36dBA. But so far it spin i think at 50-70% @ 26dBA. I'm gaming with headphone, so i can tolerate the noise during gaming as long it make my temp down, im ok with it.  tongue.gif
Next step is to get fan controller, so i can adjust to the minimum rpm @ 19dBA while doing normal task.
*
Currently you plug in directly into mobo to let it control then fan speed?

I can understand what you mean  smile.gif

So can I get a not bad CPU (assume i5?) with a "so-so" GPU with this budget? I don't mind adding a little budget on top of RM1500  laugh.gif

EDIT: I don't mind playing LoL in a lower graphic detail at the moment though. Since it's also not a GPU-hungry game I think?  sweat.gif

Hello again,

I am looking for GTX 760, but what brands should be good? there's so many of them...from zotac to msi to gainward hmm
*
The best-bang-for-buck GTX 760 would be Gainward GTX 760 Phantom, around RM845 from Garage Sales. But I heard that it recently ran out of stock, you might need to recheck for availability.

For a nicely balanced 760 with excellent cooler, I would recommend MSI GTX 760 Gaming. The cooling solution on it surpasses every other brand basically, other than just Asus, and maybe Gigabyte. And it isn't exactly very expensive also, around RM979.

Zotac is also good, bearing one of the highest factory overclock on any 760s in the market. And it is priced around RM880 with an up to 5 years warranty.

your advice is always good =)

someone quoted me gainward GTX, but i was looking at MSI as well. should i even consider 4gb with a 1k budget for GPU?
*
Glad it is of use to you. biggrin.gif

My advise is always this, for gaming at 1080p and below, just go with 2GB. All those mid-high end end cards (e.g GTX 760 / 770) with 4GB VRAM is not going to cut it. You will run out of GPU processing power long before you face VRAM shortage.

Since day 1 i purchase that board unable to fully utilize. Does other brand also like that?
*
You installed everything by yourself? Cases like this quite hard to justify, they will say you induce the defect yourself. sad.gif

Rig 2 seem to be fine , my brother should be able to increase the budget abit .

Rig 1 seem abit out of budget ....
just 1 question , the mobo seem to be abit more expansive . is there any reason to pick this mobo ?
*
For FX-8320/8320 processors, highly recommended to go with boards with 8 + 2 phase.

It is good. Or you can top up a bit and go for Strider Plus, which is modular.

QUOTE(RoyRF @ May 22 2014, 03:01 PM)
Hello guys,

I'm looking for a good gpu upgrade and my budget is below 1k.

Personally i prefer radeon over nvidia cos it's cheaper and quite reliable based on my past experience. i shortlisted a few options as below:-

1. Sapphire R9 280X
2. MSI Twin Frozr R9 280 oc
3. Leadtek GTX760 oc
4. Sapphire R9 280 oc
5. Sapphire HD7950 oc

i'm open to any other suggestions besides the above.

Cheers!
*
For a RM1000 budget, it's either R9 280 or GTX 760. Both cards are on par and will perform close to one another (depending on games).

Your budget gets you either Sapphire R9 280 OC or Leadtek GTX 760 OC. However, I've heard that the Dual-X fan on the Sapphire 280 isn't really good, so you might want to consider the MSI version instead (RM979).

i'm currently using sapphire myself with dual x fans..so far no rattling issues, etc..that's why i'm fond towards sapphire brands, maybe purely on luck tho..haha..nyway, msi r9 280 u mean? or the r9 280x version?
*
Yes, I mean the MSI 280, which retails at around RM979 (lingloong). Strangely, it is cheaper than the Sapphire Dual-X (RM1015). hmm.gif I would definitely go with MSI for the extra 1 year warranty (total 3 years).

Which version of the Dual-X are you using now?

now using hd7850 oc..also taken from lingloong  rclxms.gif
from your opinion, should i upgrade now or it's better for me to stick to current gpu as the graphic performance is only minimal improvement to what i'm using.. hmm.gif
*
You feel some games lag already? If not, I suggest just sticking with your HD 7850. It isn't a very big jump from HD 7850 to R9 280 / GTX 760.

Go for at least R9 280X / R9 290 in your next jump. wink.gif

bro raven i refine the rig 1 to and increase my budget
how does it look now ?
thanks on the explanation , from the link you provided
i decide to chose M5A97 R2.0 , since i m not going into any hardcore OC
i think should be enough
*
From the chart, the M5A97 R2.0 looks pretty ok with your FX-8350. However, do consider my earlier suggestion if you're really going for OC (mild or hardcore).
