Lol. I got multiple buddies with 15-25k builds. All mostly for looks and branding. To be honest, anything more than 2 GPUs is a joke. So is buying overpriced Mobos and RAM.

QUOTE(Cable707 @ May 16 2014, 08:53 PM) Mining yes, you need quad GPUs. But even mining rigs don't need Rampage Black or Dominator Platinums. Hahaha. Most of em just get the most expensive stuff , don't OC , and just plug and play. Oh well. |

QUOTE(Human10 @ May 17 2014, 01:52 AM) Actually my dream is to set up a rig with 8 RAM slots and fill in all slots with 8GB (or DDR4 should be higher). You crazy.64GB (or more) of RAM such memory many channel much bandwidth very fast so RAMdisk wow So overkill. Much money. Wow. Hahaha on a serious note, that thing is gonna be so expensive it'll make high GPUs look like a joke. |

QUOTE(Human10 @ May 17 2014, 02:16 AM) Apart from the SWAG factor, you get to humiliate SSD and put HDD into oblivion, it is well worth every pennies. True also. But Cost involved at this point in time is pretty Damn steep. I could do 32GB. 64, don't think so right now. Audio took a massive chunk outta my wallet. Not to mention the chance and time for it to become obsolete by successors are probably much lower (time longer) than SSD. ![]() But dat speed doe. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ May 17 2014, 02:48 AM) btw ram disk are a bad idea. we normally set it as a junction to always backup in a hdd. but once in a while forgot or hdd/ssd a bit slow on the backup and u forgot and shutdown.. tested last time on friends 64gb 2400mhz. we were trying to speed up encoding etc. Imagine we lost a huge chunk of a HEVC encode of his work. He was doing 4k editing for a wedding shoot. 8 hours of work gone.. PCIE bandwidth is much bigger so just wait for thunderbolt 2 controllers... |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ May 18 2014, 04:44 PM) Sometimes people just need to take the leap of faith. Endless questioning on which is faster is never ever going to justify the actual user experience. Basically, I doubt if one could actually feel the difference, on top of what the numbers on the chart shows. Yeah I know. But I was more of just wondering if he did get the GPU yet, cuz I remember he was comparing between 290, GTX780 and GTX560 SLi or something similair. Forgot what it was exactly. So just wanted to ask. But yeah, for SSDs of similair class you can't tell the difference if you're just gaming or doing normal computing. Just pick one with a long warranty and good track record and you're good to go. |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ May 18 2014, 09:40 PM) Not really. It's not as silent as SGTs granted, but even as push/Pull radiator fans you won't hear much if you're further than 2-3 feet if it. It's only 36db at full tilt. My Yate Loons scream at 45db , but 140cfm lah.And as pointed pointed out by creative, you can reduce RPMs. There is a 1600RPM and 1200RPM cable if I am not mistaken. Yo creative zn have you tried temps with 2000RPM? This post has been edited by Sentinel92: May 18 2014, 09:56 PM |

QUOTE(creative zn @ May 18 2014, 10:37 PM) Yup, the one im talking about is at 2000RPM. Maybe i used to sickle flow silent fan at 19dBA fan. So 36dBA at full rev, is noticeable. Haha. True, when youre buying fans which run at 2000RPM and blasts above 65cfm you gotta expect noise. But seriously don't use Sickleflows. It's horrendous. Or at least what I've experienced so far. Barely pushes any air at all.Btw, there is silent adapter include to reduce the speed, but i don't see the point to use the JetFlo at the first place if one want to reduce the speed, unless he cannot take the noise. Yup, using MSI Command Center. I put the fan at 50% (that the lowest i can adjust from the software). |

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ May 19 2014, 02:02 AM) Can you guys give me some rig suggestions based on, GTX780Ti and 4770K (or any Quad core) ? Budget as low as possible? But do you really need such a build? Unless you're overclocking and doing serious computing i don't think there is a need for Z87 boards or a 4770K. um.. I am thinking of playing Black Desert Online thou How about this? CPU-Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3-RM779 Mobo- ASUS H97-PLUS RM489 Memory-Kingston 8GB 1866MHZ CL9 RM359 GPU - Gigabyte GTX780Ti Ghz Edition RM2630 SSD-Samsung 840 EVO 120GB RM320 HDD-1TB WD Blue RM 189 PSU- Seasonic X650 80+ Gold Rm529 ODD-liteon 24x DVD/RW-RM59 Casing - NZXT Source 530 RM320 You can skimp on the PSU and get a Seasonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze @ RM299, get a cheaper casing of your choice, or get a cheaper motherboard.that's if you feel you wanna cut down. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ May 19 2014, 03:22 AM) He wanted overclocking Can i just send my rig to you, and you build/tune the Damn thing? Hahahahah.Didnt know he stated a budget. Dude i do overclocks on seriously pure performance rig. Not semi stable or crap etc.. Rigs that will seriously last on a 24/7 basis. Heck i dare even to chop them and give warranty and guarantees if u build them. Doubt any other system builders here would. Will push it to the last voltage on no air cond enviroment. This is what u need and this is what it cost. Any other than this. Will try to be in the asus lan event. Ppl can bring me their rigs.. let me bsod it. But i guess I gotta get an ASUS board first. |
