I also think Man City are deserving winners.

And for us to win it would be an insane miracle.

Just win the last home game, finish 2nd and end on a high and carry on next season.

From 7th to 2nd in a season is more than enough for a small squad like ours.

And I love all the phrases we conjured this season... especially 'We go again'.
*
I agree.

Over the 38 games, MancsC is the deserving winners.
We have simply let in too many goals compared.

Their squad quality shows through. When Aguero was injured and Negredo off form, they had another quality striker to come to the fore.
Come to the fore, he did, this Dzeko. Always rated him. I would welcome him anytime into our squad.
He is another striker who is in the right place and visibly an intelligient player.
Plus we do not have someone who is good with headers.

Plus of course, all over the park they had quality whereas we are still building for the future with our young uns.

Onward and WE GO AGAIN next year!

Of course people will say owh look City's squad is 100 million pounds/dollars more than us.

It's not their fault they have money.

Their squad's depth is just immense.

They are good going forwards and defending. We slipped too many time due to our poor defending.

But this is still a good season for us, no matter what people say.

Haters gonna hate.
*
And they FAILED the Fair play rules.
Know what? They are fined 50mil! Drop in the ocean for the sheik.... that's just 800,000 barrels of Crude.....half a days job. biggrin.gif

Do they care? Don't think so.....its like harem......for use/enjoyment by the sheik.

Theres no soul....we are working class..........its a working class team against an oil sheik.....in perspective

Well, money talks.

50million for the owner is like RM5 for us.

But lets not take away the work put in by the players. Dzeko has been insanely on form as of late.
*
Yes

Unfortunately whichever way you skin it, money talks. I bet UEFA luvs listening to the sheik, especially the officials!

And we have to accept money buys quality Most times......Dzeko is an example of that. And many more in the team.

Fined 50 million and can get trophy and become title contender every year, I think many club also want it.

Frankly speaking, my view, the FFP is like toothless tiger.

No money, no talk in modern football.
Players won't stay with low wages, even you are title contender
Good players won't come, even you are title contender.

Arsenal is a good example, despite with good coach and beauty in football, without spending big to bring star player, there is limit how far the team can go.
*
I agree. Money talks in football.

If UEFA does not bow, these elite teams can easily pull out of the Euro and set up their own franchise.

They are RICH enough to do so. And footballers will just follow the money and bees to honey.

NO MONEY NO HONEY, BABY!

Docking points would really hit them hard biggrin.gif

I AGREE TOTALLY.

Financial penalties do not hurt as much as docking points.

This is the most effective means IMO

Here we go.........they will challenge on 'technicality'.

Money still talks..creative accounting, anyone?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Manchester City's steadfast refusal to accept sanctions for breaching UEFA's financial fair play rules may be because the club believe they only failed on a technicality, according to an expert in the system.

City are contesting UEFA's settlement offer of sanctions which would entail a £49million (60million euro) fine, a cut in the size of their Champions League A squad next season to 21 and a freeze on that squad's wage bill.

Ed Thompson, a financial analyst who runs the financialfairplay.co.uk website, believes the club only failed to comply with the rules because they were unable to write off up to £80million of wages earned by players signed before the FFP rules were announced in 2010.

The club have until the end of the week to reach an agreement or the case will go to a non-negotiable decision by a panel next week.

Of the nine European clubs - also including Paris St Germain - facing FFP sanctions, it is understood City are the furthest away from reaching a settlement.

City had been expressing confidence up until March that they would be able to comply with the rules and had hired consultants to ensure that was the case.

Thompson said: "If they have been unable to write off those wages, that would explain why City are so unhappy about these sanctions, as it's basically on a technicality."

Under UEFA's complicated FFP calculations system, that wages write-off is only allowed if the club's deficit is lower than those wages, and Thompson believes City were unable to convince UEFA that was the case.

These are mega rich clubs. Fine them money? No problem. They just dish out a cheque book and that's it. Dock them points are far more effective or even banning them until they follow the rules.

Their sponsorship is so fake. They own the club, they also own whatever companies that can then pump in a lot of money to the club as 'sponsorship'. They have a lot of lawyers that can look for loopholes in whatever regulation set by the governing bodies.

aYE

If not mistaken they also form companies which buys up their products and call this INCOME! rclxms.gif

QUOTE(CityBluePrint @ May 8 2014, 10:21 PM)
If its any consolation to those Gerrard's fans,
My opinion of his slip is due to the 'suicide pass' by Sakho.

A teammate  that initiates the pass dictates the rhythm, pace & direction of the ball and should be fully cognizant of nearby opponent/s  that can pounced on the ball if given the opportunity.

Did Sakho telegraphed to the whole world including Ba that he was going to pass to Gerrard? Gerrard in most likelihood because of his 'age' hurried , slipped to get to the ball ahead of an advancing & younger opponent.

Especially when everyone expects Gerrard to receive a pass.

So that's why I termed it as a suicide pass.

Remember the Wembley FA Cup S-F;  Carrick passed to Scholes that was picked by Yaya to score. The rest is history.  wink.gif
*
THIS is a very good point.

ALL balls go through Stevie. Pressure him and hope for a mistake.

Am quite sure there is a tinge of sadness and regret with the title so damn near but seem unlikely now....still, we kept CT on their toes until the last match of the season...but not bad for a team that spent so little....and having said this, I am sure next season transfer will bring back the bragging rights of who sign who for how much..

Its been at least 2 seasons I haven't look forward to transfer, not since we were out of the CL. With the transfer window barely open, we are linked with a few names, notably lallana, Caulkner, cole, which brings to question..can we get bigger names that these?? Not that I mind any of these players, but when was the last time BR ever get jaw-dropping signings....none....if I may put it, Sturij and Coutinho are considered 'sleeper' hit....how about having a go at bigger names for 14/15...how about Koke, Rakitic, Marco Reus and Firmino..players you know is going to cost a limb but with higher assist than Suso..not that Suso is doing too badly in asssit, but no goals to show....

I think BR owe us and himself a BIG signing...and looking forward to us making a statement next season, that we are not 1 season wonder....reinforcements are needed in all areas of defense, midfield and attack...not that theres anything wrong with SAS, just felt that Suarez needed some form of rotation next season, he cant possibly play in every league, cups and CL matches....

As for Newcastle game tomolo, the team know what is expected, and if we can get a goal feast, then its a bonus...and I don't think CT will have it easy at Westham..afterall Carroll have great record scoring against them...and I don't think CT can keep him quiet for 90 mins...just hope that Downing and Cole can conjure something for us...especially downing, who seem to hit form lately....it wont be easy, come on Hammers, let's make history
*
Even if there is going to be 'big' signing, they wont be going around advertsing their intentions.
Take all those names with a pinch of salt.
Problem with all these biggies, do they want to join us? Like it or not, life is short. No one especially top foreign players would want to be in a building phase.

i expect twist tonight. Big Andy wants to be on the plane to Rio.

Macherano is a normal thing. All players who left Liverpool on a sweet note will sure to come back someday, whether as a player or a supporter.

I haven't heard of Morena so no idea. Shaqiri heard he's on our wanted list last season or 2 ago before he went to Bayern. Micah's my favourite and though he loses the spark, he's only 25. If Micah comes for 7mil, then it's great. Cheap as a backup to Glen and Flanagan. Martinez....I want him!! In my Liverpool team Fifa manager 2014 January version.
*
Don't rate Micah.........plus he is on a free in summer.
Other better backs than him
