The weakness is not the front but the middle. Fletcher and Carrick was horrible today. Out of position. Lack of creativity. Losing possessions.

Sunderland basically didn't put up a fight at midfield. We saw the ball being played around outside penalty box often.
Forwards just took too many touch and stop with the ball without doing something creative to break the defence.

Have to agree. They were too slow. The goal was also because of their mistakes. Fletcher shouldn't allowed that crossed and Carrick shouldn't let Larsson to run pass through him.

Those dreamers rooting for giggs.... 1 win from Norwich and talk cock. Yes, giggs is magnificent winger n loyal to ManUtd. But some fans must be disillusioned tat we should give giggs the manager permanently. He have 0 experience compared to moyes.

Whats the difference to sack moyes n promote giggs? To do the manutd way??

I thought it was Moyes team out there playing today. Piss poor display by the experienced duo in midfield.

I guess it would take more than just spending millions upon millions on buying new players to repair this current team. Something rotten in the core. My prediction it would take some time to get this team back up there and I hope it is not just by buying new players.

Need to implement new ideas into the club I think. New ideas on playing football. New techniques and play with more sophistication. Combine those ideas with world class facilities that they already have. Hopefully some like LvG would bring that idea so in hope the current coach would take it up and learn something. Even Barca and La Masia was inspired by a Dutch.

I just hope current situation would *not* make potential stars like DDG and Janujaz looking elsewhere. With that kind of football every week, dont think anybody would.

Exactly. What would Januzaj think. Starting Young ahead of him. It's like he's not rated and appreciated. One of the reason why Pogba left besides greed.

- Fletcher really looked like he was off the pace today. His letting the cross in = goal conceded, albeit a well struck goal. Even aside from that, not enough energy in his game today. Tired? Bad day? Out of gas for the season considering he has played a fair bit after being out for years?

- Everyone here is not happy with Young, but for the opening 15mins or so when he was on the right wing he actually didn't look horrible. Not amazing, but not "omfggggg" horrible. Once he was swapped to the left wing = might as well sub him out. Seriously, even playing Evra as a left winger would be better. Either play Young as a RW, or don't play him at all. Playing him on LW is an exercise in frustration.

- Chicharito.. sigh. Want him to do well, but he plays 90 minutes like this and it is hard to see him being more than a super-duper sub for us. If he is not willing to accept that role or unable to deliver when he gets starts (and that has been the case a few times) then maybe it's better to sell him.

- Rooney injured/sick and RVP back for the first time in awhile. Why not start Welbeck, especially if the idea was to play Young on RW and have him cross. At least Welbeck has more height to attack crosses.

- DDG didn't amaze me this game. Not horrendous, but not his high standard play either. Can say the same for the defense overall though. Some moments where they could have done better.

- Overall the team lacked energy. Again, comes back to CM position. We lacked someone to dominate the middle of the park and control our attacks. Ended up the play could have been better, supply to strikers could have been better, and even when strikers got the ball or chances they didn't kill it. Confidence still weak? Or just a team with some players that's been inconsistent or poor for so long that the team can't raise themselves for more than a couple of games anymore?

Carrick is one thing, the other thing is out of all the players and defenders around the box not one tried to attack the cross. Ball watching? Defensive shape/tactics?

I dont think thats the right way to go. They have been loyal servants and players like Vidic and Evra showed us today that they still give their all when playing out there. It is the philosophy that needs to be renewed. Inject new fresh ideas. I guess it would be more sophisticated than just changing of personnel and what set of numbers you put in your formation. There was no movement no one touch passes no ball retention.

It would take more than just right motivation to make this team move forward. The board needs to make the right decision now and appoint someone with big brass balls to take on some big headed individuals in the team.

It would be a shame to see such talents like Jones Kagawa Mata Janujaz go to waste.

The board should f*ck their money and getting Mourinho into the team, the job that was supposedly done a year ago.

Just because media keeps reporting LVG, doesn't mean he's the best available candidate out there and suddenly some fans worships him, don't forget despite of some success, he's also the guy who often left his club due to internal conflict and even sacked in Barcelona when they were just three points above the relegation zone.

Some people lives under illusions of media, look at Bayern who wasted treble winner manager for a manager who can only play one way of football, from a European champions, to be 0-4 loser at their own turf.

Pogba left because:
1) He wanted a new contract with big wages. How much this was his work, how much was his agents, or combination of both sides, idk.
2) He wanted to play regularly. His own words, when SAF brought Scholes out of retirement after playing other players out of position in CM instead of playing him, that was when he knew it was over for him.

Januzaj is nowhere near that point, and he has actually played a lot over this season (a bit too much at one point, he was looking a bit flat). At this point he might actually be ok with it considering that:

1) It's not like we are fighting for titles now, Europa is "the best hope left" and even that is fast fading.
2) He is in the prelim WC squad for Belgium and he gets injured now, lost chance.

1) You're assuming Mourinho would want it after being ignored for Moyes. His ego is big to begin with.
2) Mourinho is famous for defensive (but effective) football and generally trusting older players more than youth (barring 1-2 exceptions).
3) Treble winner manager already planned to step down at the end of last season, no? Even now it seems he is happily retired. It was only when Bayern looked like winning the treble that the fuss in the press about keeping him vs bringing Pep on became a popular topic.

1) Exactly. Nothing to play for so why not play the youngsters. They are the future. Giggs was played as a youngster as well.
2) He needs to keep playing and impresses Wilmot to have a chance. Not playing because of fear of injuries doesn't makes his chances of getting on the squad any better.

Problem is:
1) Vidic already decided to go to Inter
2) Evra is always awesome going forward, but defensively he has been giving heart-attacks for around 2 years now. Keep him as a LW? hehehe
3) Out of the 3 big defensive seniors (Vidic/Rio/Evra), does anyone think Rio has been the best this season in terms of performance standards and attitude? If not, would keeping him be good or would it be compromising on standards?

Boils down to the next manager and his plans. Hopefully it's LVG or someone with experience and the skill to make the right choice(s).
