Ascension(for prophecies character) happens after you complete Augury Rock mission in Crystal Desert. If you haven't done that you won't be able to change your secondary professions.
You really should get ascended, then you can change your 2nd profession. By doing so you can purchase skills for your heroes. The other method (i think most ppl do it this way) is to spend real money on skill unlock packs, which will allow your PVP chars and Heroes full access to skills(including elites!). I bought the skill unlock packs for Prop, Fac, NF and core and can build everything. In the long run it saves a lot of gold.

there is no need to grind at all. As you progress through the missions and primary quests you will earn enough experience. The truth is, you are supposed to reach level 20 only midway through Prophecies. If you look at

I reached level 20 somewhere around Mission 12-15

You have to realise that they improved the experience speed rather quickly based on feedback from the 1st game, in Factions and Nightfall you are confined to a starter island where you can level to 20 before leaving it.


Anyway, I suggest to play Factions because it is the most fun

need to get your character to a port (Lions Arch , Kaineng City or Kamadan), then travel to Great Temple of Balthazar and you can port to Zaishen Menagerie from GTOB.

a lot of Prophecies quests are pretty bad. Just do the ones in Kryta and the ones after you beat the game (Titan quests) , and if you have Nightfall then there will be quests in the desert which tie in to Nightfall.

i chionging to 45/50 . The hardest part is farming money for Obs armor , I dunno how I'm going to do it.

Good thing is you can solo FOW nowadays with 7 hero update. Armbrace can be farmed in 5 runs.

i dont have the free time to powertrade.

for those who are still playing, they have changed Zaishen coins to be tradeable . Current market price is 1 ecto for 1 coin.

RA is finally fun because you are rewarded points for each consecutive win (used to be 5 consec wins for a point) . There's less ragequitting.

There are 3 Standalone GW games (Guild Wars, Factions and Nightfall) and 1 expansion(Eye of the North) . The standalone ones, you can play them right out of the box, whereas EOTN requires you to have 1 of the 3 games. Eye of the North is just a continuation of the original game. It features a lot of dungeons and is meant for the experienced player. The reason most people buy it is because it gives access to the Hall of Monuments, which is a feature that unlocks rewards in Guild Wars 2.

3. Yes, no extra charges after that. You do not need to buy anything from cash shop to succeed in the game.

4. My advice is to buy everything! Haha , you should try playing the games in the order they were released.

5. Ping is about 300ms + to the Europe servers, which are located in Europe. There is Asian server but it is located in USA cluster. Since the game doesn't require low ping to be successful, it's not really a bother. The game is instanced, which means there aren't any other players apart from your party in the explorable areas, so you can take your own sweet time to do stuff.

a Hammer warrior is pretty good in clearing the first campaign.

every class is imba , because PVE and PVP are 2 different things, and besides, there is easy and hard mode , so

normally i use Europe since our connection to there is better. If experiencing high latency then I will not enter Kamadan AD1

But it doesn't really matterwhich server you play on since GW PVE is very forgiving .
